GREASYXBLADE [The Pad Bank Flip it Challenge N° 277]

Performed by Huw Morgan at St Thomas the Martyr, Bristol.

'Malum Opus' (translation: apple/disaster work) was written with the thought of a decaying apple in mind and my perceptions of decay, whether it be the withering wrinkles and crevices as the item falls apart, or the beautiful colours that appear in sprouting mould. The piece oscillates between consonance and microtonal dissonance, shifting the listener’s perceptions of the chords as they transition within these oscillations, gradually moving closer towards a microtonal decay and then eventual resolution as the apple becomes part of the earth.

This track was inspired by the Disquiet Junto Project 0568: Make music illustrating how the piano chord C6/9 can silence nightmares - a result of recent sleep research.
This is the soundscape of a nightmare - created by strangely modulated instruments, just like thoughts are transformed in nightmares, that turns into the soothing sound of sleep, a piano playing in Morpheus' Realm of the chord C6/9.

No Escape - Improvised Piano Piece

Créé en 2017, les épisodes du format classique mensuels de Passion Médiévistes sont des interviews de jeunes chercheurs et chercheuses qui travaillent sur le Moyen Âge, les médiévistes. Le but de ce projet était à la fois de faire de la vulgarisation, d’apporter de la connaissance sur le Moyen Âge aux auditeurs et auditrices, mais aussi de mettre en avant les travaux de recherches actuels sur le Moyen Âge et le quotidien et des difficultés rencontrées par celles et ceux qui étudient l’histoire médiévale.

En plus de ce format classique, de nombreux formats existent pour explorer encore plus en détails le Moyen Âge (Super Joute Royale, Vies de Médiévaux, Rencontres, Hors-Séries, Jeux vidéo & Moyen Âge)...

Le projet général de Passion Médiévistes connaît un tel succès que sont nés ensuite Passion Modernistes en 2019 sur l’époque moderne, puis Passion Antiquités sur la période antique en 2021 (tous deux également disponibles sur toutes les applications de podcasts).
