Sonicesque, Vol. III is the third album of original Sonic-inspired music by Karl Brueggemann. Machine Meltdown is by far one of my most favorite works from Brueggemann. 

I wanted to remix it to show my love for his rendition of the 16-bit classics and the fact that most of his music. I definitely went the Mania route because I could totally see a level like Machine Meltdown being in Mania, it's very expressive and right off the bat you can tell it's a well thought-out song. It's something that would perfectly fit a "modern" classic sonic game.

Directly caused by seeing pipca's take. I was like 'I wanna try,' so I did. 
Was initially dubious of how the lead was shaping up, but I'm really satisfied with how I managed to mix it. The way it turned out, I could swap the 2nd doubling from 24 Wildflower Reed to 80 Hurry Up Square seamlessly and have it sound just as good.
Had a bit of difficulty getting the bass to sound brassy but not awful, and bassy but not too smooth. I ended up doubling 3 Deow bass with 120 Headrush.
I had the idea of achieving the right-pan brass's octave sound using 63 Calliope, which has a similarly octave-like sound.
I got the growl of the lead using Fiery Cavern, but that didn't sound that great by itself. I beefed it up with 113 Trumpet, and briefly debated soloing that but that didn't sound good either, so I kept both and did some panning trickery. I ended up duping it for a third layer, after 24 Reed sounded great with 113. I couldn't decide if I liked 24 left-panned or 80 Square center-panned better, so I did both, putting them in order of mounting grandiosity.

Q: What VSTs do you usually use?
A: I usually stick to Sound Canvas VA, JV-1080, and of course Fruity Soundfont Player, from most to least preferred.

Q: Can I use your works in my game/video/etc.?
A: Sure, as long as you ask me beforehand and give me credit for it. I’d prefer for my Twister music to not be used in other games as of now, but if you wanna use them as background music for a video or something, be my guest.

Q: Can you give me an .FLP/MIDI/etc.?
A: Maybe? I probably would if you asked me politely enough, honestly.
