Mit 'Da Float' erschien von DJ Balduin bereits Ende 2022 eine EP, die uns aus der jahresendzeitlichen Lethargie riss und mit ihrer nostalgisch-verwaschenen Euphorie mal wieder zeigte, dass die Bestenlisten nie zu früh fertig geschrieben sein dürfen. Jetzt folgt - ebenfalls auf dem Leipziger Kultlabel KANN - 'Concrete Mimosa', verquickt dabei verschiedenste süßsaure Wohlfühlelemente elektronischer Musik auf Albumlänge und legt damit direkt nochmal einen drauf. Wir haben deshalb bei DJ Balduin angerufen und mit ihm über Ironie in der Kunst, Blockaden beim Produzieren und dem "Dazwischen" gesprochen.

For a long time now we have been admirers of Orion's music, which is why we are excited to say that they have composed something for Far Blue. This carefully crafted liveset featuring new materials is a melancholich piece which really captures the Far Blue feeling.

Today, we celebrate the reissue of Tbilisi-based maverick Mamuka Tskhadaia, better known as @hamatsuki. Originally released in 2018 on Dream Machine Records, 'Sea Of Nothingness' gets a second life with two previously self-released tracks on Madrid-based imprint Apnea.

Simone Baratta and Nicolò Chenet’s Orion is back on podcast duties, this time for experimental series Zenaari. The tandem’s dancier inclinations are a little more explored, but here they’re given space to investigate another raft of musical leanings. This one’s quite special, and a good example for what the Zenaari concept is at heart: a cross-genre exploration in sound that pushes the limits of established taste and composition, and above all provokes thought. Loaded with ideas, this foray spans a breadth of references, from Hasselian drones, to creaking melodies, to downtempo Italian crooning, and leaves out hi-tech mixing and glitzy effects in favour of a more raw and bluntly sequential approach to mix building. In truth, the pair have rifled through an eclectic archive of music from their native land and created an extraordinary emotional collage that’s heavy on nostalgia without tipping the scales too far into sentimentality. Affecting, but with the occasional flutter of a bassline as a reminder that this polymath duo’s there pulling the levers. Zenaari Mix 008 is a nonpareil mix from this enigmatic Milanese duo, one that’s sure to leave a mark.

Olga Korol, DJ, producer, co-owner of BodyParts records and resident in ODY arts collective. Her DJ career began in earnest and over the following years she started playing at major venues across Ukraine, establishing her name and her sound of minimal techno. It was not long before the attentions of the now infamous Kazantip Festival found their way to Olga's music and invited her to come play for them on numerous occasions. Currently her focus is on her own solo productions, running Body Parts and monthly club project Meduza. As a DJ her music has taken her across the major cities of Russia, Ukraine and over to Spain for an Off Sonar party in Barcelona. As the rest of the world awakens to the new waves coming out of Eastern Europe, you can be assured that Olga Korol is leading up at the front. This Dj set was recorded during RTS.FM session on 16.12.2014.

For the next Far Blue concept, we have Kyiv based artist Vera Logdanidi who has put together her perception of Far Blue. Vera is a skilled producer, but also a beautiful storyteller with her sets. Someone who takes strong responsibility and initiative in the Ukranian underground electronic music scene with Rhythm Büro, which obviously faces big challenges during these difficult times. Traveling to international gigs isn't easy for her either:

"Since the nearest airport is 28 hours away from Kyiv, I have a lot of time for reflection and getting things done during my travels, often in trains or during stops. I recorded this mix in Budapest during a short layover. This mix isn’t about perfectionism, but rather about the mood, embracing the moment, and enjoying the journey. Let this music be the soundtrack to your days and the events they bring"

A Far Blue concept by Vera Logdanidi - 'Stops and Sounds'

Today we are happy to share with you Bas Dobbelaer’s interpretation of Far Blue. The Amsterdam based DJ and producer is known for his distinct style, floating between energies with odd signatures and atmospheric sounds. 

With Echoes, Bas Dobbelaer takes you on an introspective journey where shifting rhythms and immersive atmospheres intertwine, creating a very deep contribution to the series.

“With this mix I tried to find the deeper layer of certain tracks and not limit myself too much with different tempo’s ranges. If it fits the vibe and helping the flow, it’s probably the right spot.

Creating a mix is an interesting creative outlet to discovering new possibilities and refining the art of setting the tone. Balancing on that thin line with endless opportunities, reflects the perfect capture of the feeling and learnings of today.”

A Far Blue concept by Bas Dobbelaer - 'Echoes'

We are very excited to share Theef’s perception of Far Blue with you today. After years of work on these productions, he has now compiled an almost 3 hour long mix of his original and unreleased works.

‘Temporal Futures’ drifts through the shadows of time, weaving together fleeting moments of light and darkness. Each track is a glimpse into distant dreamscapes—some soft and ethereal, others pulsing with mystery and edge. From the depths of ambient oceans to the glow of cosmic dancefloors, Temporal Futures unfolds like a journey across forgotten timelines and fictional realities.

“This mixtape came to life while I was back on my island, Crete—a place where time feels slower, yet the landscape constantly shifts around you. The sound of the sea, the wind across the mountains, and the endless open skies seeped into the process. Crete's nature has a way of blending brightness with a sense of the unknown, so I tried to reflect that duality in the music. Some tracks echo the stillness of quiet nights by the water, while others capture the pulse of walking through old city streets or the wildness of the island’s more quiet and forgotten corners.”

A Far Blue concept by Theef - 'Temporal Futures'

Next up, we have Amsterdam-based producer and visual artist Tensen Park sharing his perception of Far Blue with us. For this mix, he was inspired by the idea of meandering between more human and emotional songs and more alien/ethereal material. This  has resulted in a beautiful one-hour journey flowing through ambient, electronica, breaks and downtempo.

“I love the idea of zooming out on our planet and humanity. Not too far away, but far enough that you can’t hear the distinct voices anymore; yet close enough to get what it means to be human. Like squinting your eyes so everything gets comfortably vague and blurred together. Emotional, but not identified with stories. Just distorted and subdued visions, mixed with the unknown. 

I tried to give this feeling a place in sound with a bunch of my favorite songs and some of my own creations.”

We’re excited to share the Far Blue perception of Zürich-based Serenne with you today. After catching her live this summer, we were pulled in by the way she blends lush, dreamy sounds with darker moods. While keeping things subtle and immersive, she brings that same energy and depth to this one-hour mix.

“I recently had a conversation with Ben Kaczor, who mentioned an artist I hadn’t heard of before: Hilma af Klint, a Swedish visionary whose work immediately spoke to something inside me. Touched by her paintings, I printed two of her blue-hued pieces — The Ten Largest, No. 1 (1907) and Childhood and Primordial Chaos (1906–1907) — hung them above my setup, and started recording this one-take mix, letting myself drift into the world they opened.

But as I listened back, I found myself entering something else entirely — something that goes beyond those paintings — something deeper, something that transforms. A space beyond sight. That’s where the journey begins for me. And I hope that, for whoever listens, it becomes something personal too. Maybe even a small doorway to something deeper, something invisible… just as Hilma found through her art.

This mix also features beautiful tracks from many dear friends — I feel grateful for each of their creations.”

Born in Los Angeles, now venturing Berlin and Europe’s scene won our hearts with his deep and hypnotizing grooves. His wide sound variety expands into deep explorations of the tones, forms with soulful elements and complex patterns making sure to move the peak-time dancefloor to the max. His hardwork and tirelessly spent hours in studio bagged him a lovely catalogue of labels such as Lessizmore and Body Parts. Being a resident at Berlin’s Club der Visionaire as well as Los Angeles’s Standard Rooftop gives you an image that his sound is going to places. Clovis can be seen playing alongside big names as Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu, Magda to name a few and debuted in one of the biggest festivals in Europe – Sunwaves. We caught up with this talent in an interview, so let’s get into this and check his exclusive MEOKO mix.

Who ever tried a Hugo will agree: it’s probably one of the most refreshing cocktails, ever! And today no one less than Berlin based All Day I Dream producer Powel grabs the cocktail shakers and serves you an exceptional interpretation of the cocktail.  

Powel is using particularly delicious elderflowers, which gives the Hugo this distinct, refreshing flavour: deep, through and through, dreamy but still moving and, very multifaceted. It has a wonderful build-up and joyfully reminds us of deep house in the earlier days.  
Powel is part of various musical projects but his current focus lies on producing and DJing. His releases on labels such as Keller, Wunderbar Recordings, Fina Records and All Day I Dream shortly catapulted him to the heights of the global scene. 

Please join us in welcoming Powel on board and have a Hugo! We extremely enjoyed this “summer in a glass” and are pretty sure you will do as well!

Mike Haddad, Montréal’s sonic story teller, created the ultimate espresso blend: bold and balanced, with caramelly sweet finish, and, the “holy grail” of a good espresso, a rich layer of crema floating on top! 

Born and raised in the French speaking part of Canada, Mike has been mixing for few years now. Inspired by all cultures, he is curious about exploring all sounds, and playing a more diverse range of tracks. 

Raised on classic hip hop, he has only dived into electronic music in the past few years. The genre has satisfied the craving for driving, grooving melodies. Developing a passion for moving dance-floors, he uses DJing as a creative outlet; a means to tell a story. Obsessed by the deepest of sounds, his goal is to transport his listeners; through his evolving mixes.
