Philipp Priebe is an artist we have discovered not so long ago, but who has become one of our favorites very quickly. His own productions and his recent 'Apparent Calm Palms' album really hit the spot, and we are super excited that Philipp has delivered the very first live set on Far Blue. 

"This live set was recorded around Christmas 22 in my Berlin flat, after I finished the last bigger project of the year. I thought it would be a nice thing to have a set that suits an early festival evening, with an intimate and emotional atmosphere but still working on a house/dub techno floor, with Transfiguration hitting the set when the sun is setting down and you could already need a rest from all the dust and sweat around you. Afterwards the day unfolds into the night, as the set does as well. It ends with a new track, called Fever Dreams with a slightly theatrical note, wishing you well and waving goodbye until then."

A Far Blue concept by Philipp Priebe (live) - 'Enveloped in...'

The best way to describe Philipp Priebe’s music might be as dancefloor-prose. The german
producer and DJ musically recites raw, sensitive stories that tempt you to fall in love on the
dancefloor or at least wrap you in a blanket of melancholy.
Philipp’s live sets combine honest and emotive deep house with the dusty grinds of dub techno.
Straight- to-the heart samples add to the distinct moods, all carved out through a deeply
personal, almost therapeutic process. While sentimental, an irrefutable drive unfolds
accompanied a bouncy, activating rhythm.
Fascinated by how bands like Sigur Rós create emotive atmospheres and musically reflect
internal processes, Priebe found his own way to craft club-appropriate compositions that
convey storytelling and emotional processing.
His productions revolve around specific narratives, often drawn from real-life situations or those
childhood musings we can all relate to. Priebe is - by nature- an “Album-Artist”
, one who builds
an ark traversing multiple moods, just like in his live sets.
His 2014 Album “The Being of the Beautiful” (IL Y A Records) explores the concept of beauty.
The experience and sensation of being trapped in a department store are captured in
“Movements in an Empty Department Store”
.
“Until The End” (2024) released on Paradijs Boogie, a sub-label of German outlet Freund der
Familie, is the third album within 3 years. Closer to imaginative and ambient - infused house, this
long player also features collaborations with the like-minded artists Ben Kaczor and Soela.
“Movements…
” was released on Stólar, his 2020-founded imprint. Bringing his own label to life
meant creating a whole alternative universe without compromises and confinements, a
necessity for the artist.
Stólar focuses on Deep House and adjacent styles, presenting artists that Priebe appreciates
and invites to contribute. Remixes, by and for friends, play a substantial role in the curation. In
recent times he featured Molly, Lawrence and Ben Kaczor on the label.
Seeing Stólar as his heritage, Philipp puts extra effort into its visual appearance, collaborating
with artists that support his vision through distinct artworks. For most releases, Jules Villbrandt
creates pieces that go beyond being mere album covers, but are authentic works of art by
themselves.
In Priebe’s work, audible and visual elements intertwine, both figuratively and evocatively. A
variety of images and sentiments are expressed through the narratives he composes, engaging
the audience much like a piece of prose—only on the dance floor.

Today we are happy to share with you Bas Dobbelaer’s interpretation of Far Blue. The Amsterdam based DJ and producer is known for his distinct style, floating between energies with odd signatures and atmospheric sounds. 

With Echoes, Bas Dobbelaer takes you on an introspective journey where shifting rhythms and immersive atmospheres intertwine, creating a very deep contribution to the series.

“With this mix I tried to find the deeper layer of certain tracks and not limit myself too much with different tempo’s ranges. If it fits the vibe and helping the flow, it’s probably the right spot.

Creating a mix is an interesting creative outlet to discovering new possibilities and refining the art of setting the tone. Balancing on that thin line with endless opportunities, reflects the perfect capture of the feeling and learnings of today.”

A Far Blue concept by Bas Dobbelaer - 'Echoes'

We are very excited to share Theef’s perception of Far Blue with you today. After years of work on these productions, he has now compiled an almost 3 hour long mix of his original and unreleased works.

‘Temporal Futures’ drifts through the shadows of time, weaving together fleeting moments of light and darkness. Each track is a glimpse into distant dreamscapes—some soft and ethereal, others pulsing with mystery and edge. From the depths of ambient oceans to the glow of cosmic dancefloors, Temporal Futures unfolds like a journey across forgotten timelines and fictional realities.

“This mixtape came to life while I was back on my island, Crete—a place where time feels slower, yet the landscape constantly shifts around you. The sound of the sea, the wind across the mountains, and the endless open skies seeped into the process. Crete's nature has a way of blending brightness with a sense of the unknown, so I tried to reflect that duality in the music. Some tracks echo the stillness of quiet nights by the water, while others capture the pulse of walking through old city streets or the wildness of the island’s more quiet and forgotten corners.”

A Far Blue concept by Theef - 'Temporal Futures'

Next up, we have Amsterdam-based producer and visual artist Tensen Park sharing his perception of Far Blue with us. For this mix, he was inspired by the idea of meandering between more human and emotional songs and more alien/ethereal material. This  has resulted in a beautiful one-hour journey flowing through ambient, electronica, breaks and downtempo.

“I love the idea of zooming out on our planet and humanity. Not too far away, but far enough that you can’t hear the distinct voices anymore; yet close enough to get what it means to be human. Like squinting your eyes so everything gets comfortably vague and blurred together. Emotional, but not identified with stories. Just distorted and subdued visions, mixed with the unknown. 

I tried to give this feeling a place in sound with a bunch of my favorite songs and some of my own creations.”

We’re excited to share the Far Blue perception of Zürich-based Serenne with you today. After catching her live this summer, we were pulled in by the way she blends lush, dreamy sounds with darker moods. While keeping things subtle and immersive, she brings that same energy and depth to this one-hour mix.

“I recently had a conversation with Ben Kaczor, who mentioned an artist I hadn’t heard of before: Hilma af Klint, a Swedish visionary whose work immediately spoke to something inside me. Touched by her paintings, I printed two of her blue-hued pieces — The Ten Largest, No. 1 (1907) and Childhood and Primordial Chaos (1906–1907) — hung them above my setup, and started recording this one-take mix, letting myself drift into the world they opened.

But as I listened back, I found myself entering something else entirely — something that goes beyond those paintings — something deeper, something that transforms. A space beyond sight. That’s where the journey begins for me. And I hope that, for whoever listens, it becomes something personal too. Maybe even a small doorway to something deeper, something invisible… just as Hilma found through her art.

This mix also features beautiful tracks from many dear friends — I feel grateful for each of their creations.”

A Far Blue concept by Serenne - 'A Blue Beyond Sight'

For the 62nd interpretation of Far Blue, we have the talented duo Javier Salazar who have put together something special. It's one of the more experimental perceptions of the concept, weaving together downtempo, ambient and abstract sounds. Besides running the inspiring Klape Nunsen label, they are amazing selectors when it comes to the deeper and dubby sounds. This mix showcases how subtly they create an atmosphere that makes you float.

"Settled in the studio, we started playing records we felt like sharing. Each of us behind a turntable, doodling without anything specific in mind, occasionally at the same time letting sounds overlap. One of us pressed the record button, and we simply let it unfold, free of knowing where it would lead. We rarely felt so immersed in a recording, selecting each track in the moment. Depth, imperfections and unexpected blends."

K-LONE’s Cape Cira LP is one of the prettiest records you’ll hear all year in techno or any other genre. The Wisdom Teeth boss created a verdant sonic world on that album, one where rippling beats came drenched in sun-dappled atmospheres and melodies that evoked palm trees swaying in a breeze. On this exclusive mix, @k-lone93 lets us in on some of the music that inspired the record. The mix’s first half largely eschews dancefloor pulses in favour of dreamy flushes of sound - while there are some gently danceable numbers in here from the likes of DJ Python and Duckett, the entries around them emphasise new-age-inspired textures in a manner that draws a clear line to Cape Cira. We then enter a territory of coy techno and micro-house throbs, one where Jan Jelinek’s ‘Rock In The Video Age’ sets the tone, before blissing out with pure ambiences at the mix’s close. 

"This mix is a selection of cuts from my favourite albums I was listening to around the time of writing Cape Cira, mostly the sort of stuff for listening to at home rather than the club. Featuring music from Leif, Steve Reich, Loidis, Duckett, Kelly Lee Owens, Pole, Jan Jenelik, Don't DJ & Visible Cloaks."

It's with huge honor that we share our latest podcast from the Amsterdam duo, broj. 

From the moment we discovered their music we instantly fell in love with their natural ability to tell their story in such a beautiful and nostalgic way. While they have only been creating music for a handful of years, they come with a tremendous amount of maturity when it comes to production.

'For us, this podcast serves as an extension to our EP ‘Daydream’. First and foremost we wanted this mix to be a reflection of influences and personal favorites. But most of all we wanted to convey the same textures and emotions that run through our own music. It all came down to creating an hour long soundscape, a sonic world in which our music lives and thrives.'
