A Collaboration between two Nations 

“Rise From The Fall” is a musical co-production between Fariman and the Italian legendary pop singer Al Bano on the topic of life and recovery after Covid-19. This musical collaboration is also intended to commemorate the Iranian-Italian joint fight against the pandemic and create a further cultural bridge between the two nations in music, a field in which the two countries have not produced significant joint artistic work yet.

The collaboration between the two singers started in Summer 2021 during the height of the pandemic and the beginning of the vaccination process worldwide. It was successfully completed in Winter 2022 with the production of the musical video for the song.

One of the goals of this co-production is to honor the common history of Iranian and Italian suffering from the outset of the pandemic and the giant effort undertaken by their people to defeat Covid-19 over the last two years and a half.

Both Iran and Italy have indeed been hardly hit by the virus in Spring 2020 and have suffered the highest numbers in terms of life losses (141,000 in Iran and 161,000 in Italy), hospitalizations (several millions in each country) and economic hardship (millions of jobs lost in each of them).

Today, the pandemic appears to be losing its potency and viral load. The number of contagions has consistently decreased in both countries, the new Covid-19 variants have lost their vigor and lessened their fatal consequences on human health. People in both countries restarted their lives and habits while adapting to the new normal, made of co-habitation with the virus and endurance to its variants.

Besides the topic of the pandemic, the idea for this musical co-production stems from Fariman's initiative to celebrate the historical friendship between the Iranian and the Italian nations, and open a door to international collaborations for the Iranian musical scene, mostly traditional and limited to national production.

Finally, the ultimate message of the song, which coincides with a season of renovation and optimism after the pandemic, is hope for a better life after hard times and pursuit of solidarity among nations.

“Never give up” is Fariman’s first pop and R&B style song, produced in collaboration with the successful American rapper 2Deep the Southern President. The song is about pursuing human goals and dreams, not giving up on the temporary difficulties and obstacles that stand in the way of everyone’s life. It also contains a very positive and motivating message about fighting for one’s own ideals.
