A song about climate change and our effect on the planet, its climate and our future. Inspired by a Nature paper about 'the trillionth tonne' of CO2 emissions, this song had/has a working title of 'Sonoma' and was originally about grapes 'withering on the vine'... I didn't realise that 'withering on the vine' is an expression about doing nothing while a problem gets worse and worse, which fits in very well with the subject of climate change.

This song is the 'twin' song of 'Fool' - both songs were written within 48 hours of each other back in May, and both songs were recorded and published online within 24 hours of each other... in August. Both songs were written and played using a bouzouki as opposed to a guitar.

Farmaka is a solo project. I make music occasionally and share a few demos on this platform every now and then. I am not a musician; hence I do not perform. And so far I am a lousy producer, so there are no physical releases - yet...

I label my songs "electronic" because that's what they are. However, I tend to avoid tags that would most probably bring about disagreement on what they actually sound like. Others may judge.

Also, there isn't much point in categorizing, since I have no intention to stay within a certain genre. Composing is my laboratory, in which I enjoy exploring different soundscapes and approaches. Easier than saying what my music is like, is to say what it's not; you probably won't find it very modern. My inspiration generally derives from earlier decades, so I guess my tunes sound more or less retro.

Despite their variation, I believe there is a recurring signature in my preferred sounds, basslines and harmonies. To me, they are echoes of the music I heard in my childhood and youth - either on record or simply in my head. The latter refers to primitive musical patterns, evolving in my mind long before I got the chance to lay my hands on any proper equipment. They constitute prototypes that are now partly materializing.
