Behind the alias Miezenwahnsinn hides a colorful soul who is only too happy to dance into the sunrise with her feet in the sand and her head towards the sky. For some years now, exactly this is increasingly moved behind the decks. Miezenwahnsinn has become a fixed institution in Hamburg's rave scene. She`s a member in different collectives like Bassbotanik, Slowereastside and Schaluppe.


Musically, she likes to slow things down a bit. From deep dreamy over trippy oriental to dark disco, often and gladly infused with a trace of 80's synth, everything is there that pleases heart and leg.

I met her last year on the grounds of a well known festival and we've had kind of a penpalship ever since. But she’s not only a kind and open-hearted person, she is also fantastic behind the decks
and enriched many events all over the globe with the distinct style of her dj-sets.

Geilomeilo! Hier schmeckt man ja richtig den kommenden Frühling! Geschmeidig wie von 'nem 1000er Schmirgelpapier wird uns hier der Putz im Gehörgang hauchfein abgerieben. Somit freie Bahn für die fluffig, frischen Soundwölkchen, die Richtung Hörzentrum unterwegs sind. Dort angekommen, tanzt der auditive Cortex vor happiness Macarena. 

Bei dem Sound wird klar, was wir wollen; und zwar eindeutig wieder auf ein Festival mit ganz viel Sonne.

It's the first podcast on my channel and I am going a bit away from my usual sound and try something slightly more aggressive, with more darkness to it. 
The track selection is mainly inspired by what I am playing in recent gigs.

Unsere Nr. 238 kommt heute von einem spannenden, französischen Künstler, den es, wie viele andere, ins globale Zentrum der elektronischen Musik nach Berlin verschlagen hat. Dort machte er sich innerhalb kürzester Zeit mit seinem hypnotischen Downbeat Style einen Namen. Darüber hinaus ist er Mitgründer des aufstrebenden Labels Crepite (https://soundcloud.com/crepitecollective), einer Berlin / Paris Connection, die ohne Witz nur vorzügliche Releases veröffentlichen. 

Die Rede ist von Farn aka Quentin. Einem Musikliebhaber der langsamen Sorte, welcher in seinen Berliner Anfängen rund sieben Jahre her besonders durch uns (Danke an dieser Stelle), Amselcom (https://soundcloud.com/amselcom) und Laut&Luise (https://soundcloud.com/lautundluise) geprägt wurde. Auch die bekannten SOMETHING SLOW (https://soundcloud.com/somethingslow) Events im Beate Uwe (https://soundcloud.com/beateuwe) verzückten und inspirierten ihn in seinem Schaffensdrang. Kein Wunder dass er neben dem DJ’ing dann auch selbst anfing zu produzieren. Ich erinnere mich noch sehr gut an seine beeindruckende Premiere „Levitum“ (https://soundcloud.com/afterhour-sounds/premiere-farn-levitum-original-mix-crepite?in=afterhour-sounds/sets/premiere) bei uns, die mich vollkommen in den Bann zog und immer noch tut. Ich merkte sofort, dieser Kerl hat das gewisse etwas in seinem Sound. Nämlich tiefe, träumerische und gleichzeitig druckvolle Momente. Definitiv ein Qualitätsmerkmal seines Sounds, welcher sich sowohl in den Releases auf Crepite, als auch in seinen Mixen widerspiegelt. 

Kein Wunder, dass mich das für uns aufgenommene Set direkt in den Bann gezogen hat. Der Beat, die Flächen und die leicht düstere Stimmung entführen einen definitiv ohne Umwege aus dem Alltag hin zu einer nebeligen Sommerwiese frühs morgens zum Sonnenaufgang im wunderschönen Grün. Dabei bewegt er sich gekonnt irgendwo zwischen Tanz und Traum, Druck und Leichtigkeit, aber alles mit einer hypnotischen Aura versehen. Für ihn ist Downtempo definitiv keine Chillout Musik mehr, sondern ein Raum des Experimentierens. Nämlich verschiedene Subgenres miteinander zu verbinden und eine große BPM Range an den Tag zu legen. Jeder Hörer und Tänzer soll hierbei nie den Eindruck bekommen, dass er wüsste, was als nächstes folgt. Dies ist ihm sehr wichtig. Was er damit nun konkret meint, könnt ihr in seinem absolut einzigartigen und fesselnden Podcast bei uns hören. Ich sage nur Minute 35…. Ein absoluter Hörgenuss, ohne Übertreibung. Aber hört und entscheidet selber. Für mich definitiv eines dieser Podcasts, welchen ich mir definitiv noch unzählige Male anhören werden. Bestimmt auch in zehn Jahren. Dies bin ich mir sichser. Ganz nebenbei überzeugt die Aufnahme durch eine Playlist der Superlative. Neben einigen, kommenden Releases auf Crepite, haben sich weitere, mir teils unbekannte Dancefloor Weapon’s von anderen Labels und auch einige Stücke aus seinem Klassiker Ordner in den Podcast geschlichen. Ich erahne jetzt schon das ein oder andere „Track ID?“ Kommentar…

Schnallt euch an… Ich kann mich nur wiederholen, aber es erwartet euch eine Reise, die wie gemacht für eine Afterhour ist. Keine Phrase, keine Fake-News, sondern ehrliche Worte eines musikverliebten Spessarters.

Ich danke dir vielmals Quentin für dieses besondere Set. Umwerfend nachttraumtanzbar und erfrischend gut. Chapeu.

#096: okuma *live - Montagssorbet mit Laut & Luise

It was exactly one year ago when we celebrated the legendary Fjord Ferry Fest. A lot has happened since. The togetherness and love that prevailed at that time seems lost. People are required to keep their distance from each other and there is hardly any room left for closeness, love and secureness. But when we think back on this incredible meeting of very special people, it seems as if it was just yesterday and the cohesion can still be felt today.
Our friends Benni & Gino aka Landhouse & Raddantze @landhouse-raddantze from Karlsruhe were being a very special part of this magic.
The suitcases full of delicacies, which had never before been heard by a public ear, traveled to the southern Fjords to give us their chosen sounds.
As if they already suspected what was rolling towards us and that it would be necessary to fill each person's memory for a long time with love, closeness and a feeling of deep connection, they created these Set for us.
These driving and deeply harmonious composition of self-produced sounds should remind us of the common feeling that prevailed at that time!
Stick together and be there for each other!

Alle Pralle 

Flankiert von einem Pulk glücklicher Menschen woge ich über Tanzfläche. Die Luft im Raum steht und vibriert zugleich. Kondenswasser tropft von der Decke und den Wänden, während die Bässe aus dem Boxen pulsieren. 
Doch niemand der hier Anwesenden schenkt dem heruntergekommenen Ambiente großartig Beachtung. Die Aufmerksamkeit gilt der Bühne, dem DJ und der Musik. Ersteres ist ansehnlich dekoriert und verziert. Überall hängen bunte und bemusterte Tücher, welche in ihrer Gesamtheit ein beeindruckendes Gemälde abgeben. In diesem Kunstwerk ist der Taktgeber, nur eines von vielen Elementen. Trotzdem ist das Interesse an ihm groß. Denn er versorgt uns mit dem Stoff, dem Elixier der Begierde. Er füttert uns mit mal wohltuenden, dann wieder mit aufwühlenden Frequenzen, Tönen & Klängen. 
Über die Abendstunden hinweg sind die tanzenden Besucher zu einer richtigen Gemeinschaft geworden. Aus ich und du wurde ein Wir. Dabei ist es unerheblich, ob einem die anderen Gäste zu Beginn Fremd oder bereits Freund waren. Jetzt fühlt sich die Interaktion, dass gemeinsame Tanzen und feiern, extrem vertraut an. In diesem Etablissement verbindet uns ein enges Band, welches ich mit meinem beschränkten Verstand nicht verstehen kann. Ich nehme einfach nur wahr. Wir sind einfach da und genießen die Freiheit, das Leben und die Liebe. 

Der heutige Podcast von Deep Ändi & schwalheim tanzt definitiv aus der althergebrachten Reihe. Dieses Set ist eine Synthese aus Oldschool-Klassikern, aufgepeppt mit einigen zeitgenössischen Werken. Die Musikstücke wecken uralte und teilweise verschüttete Sehnsüchte. Feiern gehen im Club, sich ungezwungen mit Freunden treffen ...
Doch am Ende des Tages dreht man einfach ein wenig lauter, wippt mit dem Kopf zum Takt der Musik und freut sich über das Geschenk des Lebens.
