I create Indie games for the XBox 360, but I've played music longer than I have been programming.

I play mostly by ear with patterns and can almost read music.  But, I started out on a nylon string classical guitar, then to a steel string folk guitar, a twelve string, an electric very heavy mahogany Blues/Jazz/Rhythm, a Fender Strat for Rock/Lead and a Gibson fretless bass.

I also continued my studies, a bit, from classical chamber music to pop culture.  My first music lesson was for oboe while my sister played the bassoon.  Both are double reed instruments, both sounded interesting, even sometimes at the same time.

Next were piano and drum lessons.  No voice lessons but I'll sing some Eagles, Clapton, Doobies and Steely Dan.

After that it became a free-for-all of just having fun with the people, now good friends, who enjoyed the same free time adventures with music.

I'm currently striving to make short sound effect loops to blend with and enhance my games art assets and to create background mood music to enfold a moving theme within my video games.
