TWINS is the paranoid outsider-pop project of Atlanta-based producer Matt Weiner. Having spent the better part of a decade reveling in a mutant murk that intersects seductive synth-pop with Featureless Ghost and grotesque industrial-dance grooves in his own right as TWINS on LPs issued by Ruralfaune and Clan Destine, Weiner has more than proved his sincerely sinister and auspiciously artful finesse of synth-based music. Operating from his home studio, arrayed with various tools of the trade, Weiner culls his subtle scourges of sound with an unending sense of bold exploration, processing tracks of rhythmic, aural catharsis.

Now returning with the Love Is A Luxury 12-inch, a two-track EP co-released by Weiner's own CGI and Geographic North, TWINS ventures deep into the collected unconscious of our singular broken heart. Elegantly expansive and densely fluid, each track a fragmented careen of erotic house music. With more than an eye on the dancefloor and an ear for hypnotic luster, A-side "Love Runs Deep" hosts dubby house perfectly suited for Basic Channel's low-end minimalism. B-side "The Empty Deep" conveys the desolate counterpoint, enchanting in its sullen hysteria.

Weiner's dubby explorations of an exposed vulnerability manifest in the vinyl itself, containing and exposing both tracks with complete transparency, baring themselves on clear crimson wax.

After Clandestino's mix, it makes perfect sense to premiere one of its members Joe Morris' debut EP on Is It Balearic, Coyote's imprint. The "Golden Tides" EP contains four tracks of balearic and tropical house produced to a high standard. The title track of the EP, premiered here, is probably the most driving of the lot, with its spacey and deep pads, arpeggiated synths and bewitching percussion. As a result, it doesn't take long before your mind is sent to some exotic and dreamy landscape. This delight is out on 12" on March 28th, don't sleep on it !

Hell Yeah is proud to present a new EP from an artist that has been on their radar for a while. That artist is Napoli’s Quiroga aka Walter Del Vecchio, the Italian DJ and producer who also runs his own Really Swing label and has been given props by the in the know Test Pressing blog, as well as having all his tunes dropped by Balearic Gabba Sound System at every opportunity.

One of the finest talents to come from Italy in recent times, Quiroga cooks up hypnotic and trance including sounds from a myriad of diverse influences from opiate jazz to shuffling funk beats, from shifty landscapes to library music.

First up is VIAGGIO A TULUM, a perfectly loose and jumbled mix of sunny vibes, feel good chords and clipped vocals full of soul. The sort of thing that has you day dreaming of lazy afternoons and drunken BBQs, it’s perfect example of Quiroga’s efforts style.

NON DIRE NOTTE—featuring Acido and Really Swing act 291Out members Luca “Presence" Carini on electric bass and Vincenzo “Warren" Ciorra on electric guitar—is even more lazy and elongated, horizontal and blissed out. Twanging guitars off set pixelated synths, squelchy chords and Afro signifiers bring the heat and overall you cannot fail to get lost in the groove.

PRATI BAGNATI is a serene ambient interlude that feels like laying on your back and looking into a deep blue sky and second ambient cut BAVA is more textured and intense, with shifting drones and muffled voices bringing a sense of filmic unease to the table. Overall, this is a perfect window into Quiroga’s most intoxicating musical world.

After seven years of organizing and playing his infamous "Get Deep" parties at "About Blank" where he was a pioneer of bringing the disco and balearic sound to Berlin’s house scene, Charlie has started a new chapter as one of the founders of Smooth Operators (a Berlin Bass Collective imprint). On this debut release, all four tracks are examples of true digger’s delights and super rare, esoteric sounds. B2 "El Fan" is an edit of the groovy song by the 70's Algerian singer Aït Meslayen. Resista is back for number 10 and this time we welcome Toby Tobias to the family!

Toby has been behind plenty of widely regarded records over the past decade, putting his hand to a large number of releases for labels such as Rekids, Delusions Of Grandeur, More Music, Let’s Play House and most recently ESP Institute.

Needless to say, Toby knows his way around the studio but he’s also equally adept when it comes to cutting and splicing, as you can hear on the title track of this special 12” for Resista, re-editing and embellishing this slice of pure sunshine. For the flip, Toby puts his production hat back on, building a deep, afro-influenced house track and deftly layering the same vocalist on top. Pure balearic bliss!

As always the artwork has been completed by the very talented Pedro Carvalho de Almeida. Vinyl Only.
