Like everything it has a story, but that´s not important at all for the music.

Fash Blake was catched by the virus of electronic music in the middle of his puberty. With delicate 15 years “Teenage Blake” has been smuggled into a club by his friends.

Inspired by the colorful club scene it doesn’t took long to know where he wants to be: behind the decks.

So he started to buy records and practiced them to play. After two years of apprenticeship, he stood at the age of 17 behind the mixer in the club for the first time, the place where he was been till today.

During this time, some kind of “ass-shake-music” was getting popular so he felt alone in the electronic-corner of the record-shop where otherwise only the audiophile music lovers sneaked into. Whether it was the fact that he has always been more interested in music or Essen is on industrial workers city just like the motor city Detroit he could not answer, but it would make sense.

So Robert Hood and DJ Rolando became the idols of his musical career. Influenced by Derrick May and Claude Young the mixing-style of Fash Blake was shaped. Detroit, dirty, edgy, moving, just like Essen.

He had enough of the Junk-records arround him and so he began working on own sounds for himself. Thereby influences were always the old idols but increasingly more cosmopolitan and open minded, that is what it sounds in the latest productions. Sophisticated, grown-up, drifting with a small pinch of Melankolie ... thats the sound of Fash Blake.

PS: In addition to full-time job, being a dad, playing gigs and producing music he is also a kind of on event-manager for his own partys. “Klang der Familie” is no longer only known by the family, it has a very good reputation even in the discriminating of the sophisticated party scene of Essen.

Vom Virus elektronischer Musik wurde Fash Blake bereits mitten in der Pubertät befallen. Mit zarten 15 Jahren wurde Teenage Blake von seinen Freunden in einen Club geschleust.

Begeistert vom bunten Scenetreiben war schnell klar wo er hin will : Behind the decks.

So fing er an Platten zu kaufen und zu drehen . Nach nur zweijähriger Lehrzeit stand er bereits mit 17 Jahren das erste mal im Club hinterm Mischer , wo er heute nicht mehr wegzudenken ist.

Während sich in den dieser Zeit zunehmend die Arschwackelmusikscene in Bewegung setzte stand der Junge Herr verlassen in der anderen Ecke des Plattenladens, wo sich sonst nur die Musikliebhaber hin verirrten. Ob es daran lag das er sich schon immer mehr für Musik interessierte oder Essen genauso eine Malocherstadt ist und war wie Motorcity Detroit kann man nicht beantworten aber es liegt nahe.

So wurden Robert Hood und DJ Rolando zu Wegbereitern seines musikalischen Werdegangs. Nachhaltig wurde sein Mixing – Style von Urgesteinen Derrick May und Claude Young geformt. Detroit, dreckig, kantig, in Bewegung, just like Essen.

Genug vom Plattenfrass der ihm vorgesetzt, begann Mann selbst auch an eigenem Sound zu tüffteln und zu basteln. Einflüsse dabei waren immer wieder die alten Lehrmeister. Doch zunehmend immer weltoffener was sich auch in den neusten Produktionen raushört . Weltmännisch, erwachsen, treibend mit einer kleinen Priese Melankolie... thats the sound of Fash Blake.

PS: Neben Fulltime Job , Papa sein, auflegen und producen stellt er auch noch eine kleine Fete auf die Beine . Klang der Familie ist schon lange nicht mehr nur im Familienkreis bekannt und genießt ein herausragenden Ruf in der stark verwöhnten essener Clubscene.
