  About the mix:
 "Feeling a bit drained by winter and under the weather, I wanted to create something comforting, like that old plaid you love to wrap yourself in.
As a teenager, I used to listen to mixes in bed, dreaming of being in clubs while drifting off to sleep, caught in the loop. I tried to capture that feeling here. Hope you enjoy it !"

Evoking the sonic tapestry of her journey, Menal Batti invites us to immerse ourselves in her transformative and multifaceted soundscape. A testament to her Swedish origins, now flourishing in the vibrant techno scene of Vienna, and currently a resident at filtr in Brno. Her music is more than just entertainment; it's a raw, pulsating expression of self.

Batti weaves her Kurdish heritage into her musical narrative, drawing inspiration from her father's saz, a traditional instrument that symbolizes her cultural roots. With a profound passion for 90s techno music, she embarked on a musical expedition, cultivating a unique style that elegantly marries disparate elements of the genre into a harmonious entity.

Her dynamic progression is celebrated in the energetic dance floors of local clubs such as Grelle Forelle and PRST, and echoes internationally with appearances for Herrensauna, Marcel Dettmann's "Bad Manners" and playing at venues like Blitz Munich, RADION Amsterdam, Tresor Berlin and Lighthouse Festival Croatia, Menal Batti continues to transmit her compelling rhythmic narratives with an atmospheric touch, demonstrating the evolution of her musical identity.

Fast Forward Audio Series #106 - Menal Batti

For the March edition of the Audio Series, we are pleased to present: Shanda

Based in Berlin, Shanda is a DJ & Co-founder of the collective ABYSS (HK) from Hong Kong. With her classical music background being a flutist and love for rave parties, she has played countless shows at Hong Kong underground clubs such as OMA, Social Room, and other top-notch venues. She performed at one of the biggest music festivals in Hong Kong, Clockenflap 2023, and was invited to headline several club nights in Vietnam, Australia, and China.

In pursuit of music inspiration, Shanda recently moved to Berlin, Germany to further explore her sound. She started to be seen very quickly in esteemed Berlin clubs such as RSO, Club OST, OXI, Renate, and Alte Münze. She has also recently debuted at Berlin's legendary techno club, Tresor for their new faces night and completed her first Asia Tour to Hong Kong, China, and Singapore.

Her sound is a blend of dark grooves, raw techno, and psygrooves, pulsating with vibrant percussions and unexpected rhythmic twists that often bring surprises to her audience.

About the mix:
This one-hour mix explores the challenges of love in our complicated era. It captures the essence of a first meeting, the ups and downs of a relationship, and the magical moments that coexist with the struggles. In this mix, I’ve pushed the boundaries of my usual sound, incorporating new elements and rhythms. I hope you enjoy this special art piece of mine!

Fast Forward Audio Series #107 - Shanda

The April edition of the Audio Series is here, happy to present you with: Monster

With over a decade of experience under her belt, Monster is now rightfully taking her place among Europe's best DJs. Showcasing her omnivorous taste for euphoric and fun music, Monster can be heard playing techno, house, electro, acid, old-school trance, breaks, and everything in between, usually championing producers from her local Polish scene.

Her career started in the late 00’s at Rozbrat, an anarchist squat and social centre in Poznań, Poland. That's where she started throwing Squat The Electricity nights, working tightly with the local scene, popularising electronic music among activists and activism among electronic music fans. Today, she's a member of Oramics, a Polish platform supporting women, non-binary and queer people in electronic music. Their actions came to worldwide attention thanks to the Total Solidarity compilation.

About the mix:
"The mix showcases some of the fast and modern, mostly 4x4 tracks that I've been enjoying recently as well as some broken beat intermissions. It's perfect for the ending of Venus and Mercury retrogrades that we can now all recover from."

Fast Forward Audio Series #108 - Monster

For the May edition of the Fast Forward Audio Series, we present: Nuir

Nuir is a self-taught producer and DJ based in Paris, known for her boundary-pushing approach to electronic music. Drawing inspiration from a rich electronic music culture that spans IDM, trance, techno, and the free party scene, Nuir has carved out a unique sonic identity.

She made her debut as a producer on Mama Told Ya and has since continued to push boundaries with her sound, releasing music on labels such as Maison Close, Ghetec, and, most recently, TM8.

Rooted in Parisian club culture and the French free party movement, Nuir has performed across numerous European cities, including Copenhagen, Bristol, and Yerevan.

Her music has received support from internationally recognized artists, including Mama Snake and Anetha, affirming her growing influence and fearless ability to merge hardware, software, vocals, and live instrumentation into a singular, evolving sound.

About the mix:
This one-hour mix embodies what I seek during this challenging time we are facing — a sonic space for both release and reflection. Deeply connected to the culture that has shaped my identity, I am now driven to contribute to this vision: music as a powerful political and emotional force, creating a space where everyone can freely express themselves.
I wanted the mix to reach both emotional depths and euphoric highs — blending deep introspection with high-energy club sounds. It's about connection through contrast, and the healing power of dance.

This mix was recorded live from Reaktor's Katharsis event in 2017.  For those that don't know, Katharsis happens once a year and is dedicated to the faster, harder and more industrial side of techno.  This was my entire 3 hour set from that night.

Over the last few years we have built a steady relationship doing events together and sharing our passion for this music.  We are teaming up once again for ADE 2018 and releasing this mix as a thank you to all our followers and supporters.

For this edition of the Fast Forward series, we present to you Blue Hour @bluehour909 with a mix focusing on early-rave! - Enjoy!

From starting out promoting club nights in the UK, Luke Standing has been devoted to underground electronic music.
His first records under the names Furesshu and Esoteric experimented with swung and atmospheric techno before he resettled in Germany and launched his resolutely independent project Blue Hour in late 2013. Since then, Standing has released pivotal records with a distinctive sound driven by the spirit and energy of the '90s, and in turn, been welcomed into some of the most respected venues across the globe. Fuelled by his obsession with the early days of dance music, when genres like trance, jungle, and IDM overlapped, his DJ sets explore a narrative of timeless music, blurring the lines between geography and scene, space and time. Beyond the platform originally started for his own productions, Blue Hour has since begun extending his reach towards other artists and releasing music from Dold
and Alpha Tracks as well as his collaborative project as Tracing Xircles. An acclaimed Remixed series has also seen artists like Steffi, Pangaea and Answer Code Request re-working his music. There is no doubt that Blue Hour has become part of the techno world, but Standing stands clearly apart within it.

BOUND Radio with VTSS @ The Lot Radio 11 - 21 - 2019

Kirill Egorov is a dj from a small town on the North of Russia called Petrozavodsk. His sets are all about synth music in different forms of it. Kirill especially like to dig italo-disco and classic synth-pop as the most pure and cheerful genres for dance. However an aggressive part of his nature finds itself in EBM, New Beat and other dark or cold wave stuff full of electric and mechanical sounds and represents melancholy that meets rage. 

This year Kirill just begin his journey and took few steps trying to do his best as a dj. He regurally plays music at the most popular italo-party in Saint Petersburg called "ITALLIKA" and have visited Moscow in May to perform with a dj-set at EBM and industrial music party "DISCIPLINE".

Next up in the Fast Forward Audio Series we have Damon Bradley!

Damon Bradley, a resident of central Maryland, USA, was born and raised in South Philadelphia.
His musical influences span a very broad spectrum from ambient to industrial techno, groovy and soulful house, and melodic progressive trance. Currently, he’s focused on exposing the boundaries of techno to as many people as possible, and he does this using the TechnoFist group and TechnoFist podcast he created in 2013 and 2015, respectively. He curates both new and classic techno on TechnoFist which now has over 2900 members, mostly from New York, Washington DC, and various European cities.

Damon has played in numerous places in Washington DC, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia including Jimmy Valentines, and Dr. Clocks Nowhere Bar for the Degenerate, Void Archive, and Phonic parties in DC, EXILE Brooklyn, Flash DC, Tilt, and Aphotic in Brooklyn. Damon’s toured the US beyond the East Coast as well, including Format x Sleepwalker Chicago, the Works in Detroit, and Synthetik in LA.
Internationally, Damon also headlined Copenhagen’s new rave series called Endurance, flanked by Hyperaktivist, Lunde and Ronde, and Ezy, and also played a few impromptu parties during Amsterdam Dance Event 2018 and Dekmantel 2017.
Damon has played at all ends of the running order, opening for the likes of Shifted, Ben Damage, Exos, and Phase, and closing for juggernauts such as Perc, Tommy Four Seven, Headless Horseman, Stranger, Milton Bradley, The Gods Planet, Jeff Mills, FJAAK, and Pure Immenance.

In 2016, Damon teamed up with Ron Jackson, Jacob Knibb, Associate and Juana to form SEQUENCE, an ambitious underground techno event series that aims to push the Washington DC techno scene as far as possible. SEQUENCE has been throwing parties since August 2016, and has featured strong local talent alongside heavyweights such as Headless Horseman, UVB, Discwoman, Milton Bradley, BMG, and Tommy Four Seven.

In March 2019, Damon started a new party series in the US called Katalyst, which bridges the gap between future techno with classic trance sounds of the early '90s. He’s already featured 11 artists in only 2 parties already and hopes to feature many more in the near future.

About the mix:
I had 3 objectives with this mix.
1) Blend opposites - past and present techno, hard and abrasive with gentle and melodic
2) Showcase intense tracks that seem to tell a story but also get folks moving fast
3) Dedication to my late mom who passed away in June - FSOL Papua New Guinea was one of her favorite songs I'd play for her over 20 years ago while I was a teenager just discovering the music, and Ibon No Sleep is the last song I played for her, a week before she died.

So the tracks include Oliver Lieb (as Superspy and L.S.G.), D. Carbone, DJ IBON, Funeral Future, Devilfish, I-E from ISMUS, Avalone, Luis Ruiz, Meiler Avenue, 999999999, and Hadone.

New year, new podcast. January's podcast is one by the French DJ & producer: FUERR (@fuerr).

Coming from the very heart of Paris (as you can see from the Paris Saint-Germain Football Club colours of the artwork) techno, hard techno, jumpstyle, breakbeat, and industrial are all styles the young and ambitious FUERR encompasses while staying faithful to his hardstyle influences.

With some seriously heavy new releases such as 'Tungstate', 'Supervisor' & 'Wrong Is Right', and with one spikey and aggressive EP, released on Wrongnotes (@wrongnotesrecords), his sole purpose is to knock your socks off. For the 70th entry of the Honcho Podcast Series, we welcome LA-native @jake-muir. Fascinated by musical intimacy, Muir centers his work around the use of 'found sound', including field recordings, vinyl loops, and shortwave radio clips. These audio fragments are manipulated and welded together to further distance them from their original context. We thought a mix of soft, atmospheric tones would be a meditative way to begin the new year.

Honcho Podcast Series 70: Jake Muir

The first edition of the Fast Forward Audio Series for this decade, we present to you a special collaborative effort between Viscerale and Adam Askov of Funeral Future, they named the mix "Life is not a Beach". It came about as the result of a close friendship that was formed a year ago.
The tracks featured in the mix were all fixtures at the local club Tuben back in the early ‘00s and have been superbly mixed by Viscerale. It’s a rare glimpse into a sound that preceded our own contributions to the Copenhagen techno.
