 Vel is a Moroccan artist, part of the infamous Mama Loves Ya agency, serves us with a continuous flow of basselines to narrate a mental and pulsing trip, for this 92nd edition of the podcast.  

From her base in Lyon and as a resident of Le Secure, her mix of psychedelic and techno sets has quickly earned her a place among the most interesting emerging artists on the techno scene.

The #56 episode of the Schimmer podcast series was mixed by Annie Lew – an emerging producer and DJ in techno’s next generation of artists, crafting a soundscape where perpetual, primal rhythms collide with extraterrestrial atmospheres. With a style rooted in thunderous, tribal percussion and elevated by celestial synthwork, Annie’s sonic identity is transcendent.

From the coastline of New England, Annie etched her name into the scene after joining Infra Boston in 2022 — a forward-thinking techno collective paving the city's evolving electronic landscape. Her sets are immersive rituals: genre-blurring journeys that retain the pulse of techno while weaving in unexpected textures.

She’s made waves in the Northeast scene, with standout performances in Boston and New York at Basement, Paragon, and Boiler Room for example, as well as an upcoming debut at Wire Festival. Her intuitive connection with her audience creates a shared experience that feels both intimate and expansive.

Gloria Rose. A name as unassuming as the humble stature that makes up the person. But take care - a leopard’s prey rarely knows it’s the target before it’s being stripped apart. 

For the artist has been steadily turning into a tour-de-force both here in London and increasingly on the continent too. Sultry techno & alluring grooves lure those in their midst into a false sense of security, before she pounces, snaring her target with a level of drive & prowess that instantly commands the dance floor. At that point all you can do is enjoy the ride, powerless, at her mercy, the only destination is her own.
