The next installment of the FatCat Podcast is by Dave Howell who has been working at FatCat since the start of the label way back in '97. As well as creating much of the labels early artwork, and being responsible for curating the Split Series, Splinter Series and 130701 imprints, he has signed / A&R'ed artists such as Animal Collective, Vashti Bunyan, Vetiver, Nina Nastasia, David Grubbs, Set Fire To Flames, Hauschka, Johann Johannsson, Dustin O'Haloran, Xinlisupreme, U.S. Girls, Crescent, and many more. Here's what Dave had to say about his mix:

"Here's a mix of some recent bits i've been DJing with - mostly based on some killer live drumming, this one sprawls from 1970s Thai Luk thung to post-punk, afro-beat, tropicalia, krautrock, bollywood film music, disco weirdness, garage-psych, and funk. I like things that stretch your head a little, that offset great beats or hooks with a healthy dose of chaos and lead you into strange, unknown places. My monthly mix for Electronic Convergence explores the deeper side of electro whicle picking up the pace from Jan & Feb's mixes.

Appearances from ERP, Zobol, Versalife, D Roots and Derek Carr along with some artists that have already featured in Jan & Feb. I hope you find a few unearthed gems from some artists and labels that haven't been on your radar.

We welcomed a long time veteran of the scene to the show, who joined me for a 2hr guest mix. Scott Braithwaite. 

Having been involved since day one, from remixing soundscape in the early 90’s.
To projects with Techno luminary Craig Walsh, moving to A&R, the architect behind many projects of yesteryear which paved a path for the deeper side of House & Techno, to critical acclaim.
Working for Kickin Records, home of Slip N Slide, Warlock, being the original A&R at Kickin records left, leaving Scott to compile many compilations from producers in the 90’s, including the ‘Elements of Jazz’ series, featuring 3MB feat:Juan Atkins, Dave Angel, Glen Underground, Dan Curtin, K Alexi, Patrick Pulsinger, Black Jazz Chronicles (Ashley Beadle), Model 500, Ian O’Brien, As One (Kirk Degiorgio).
Also, the Techno Nations Vol 6 & 7, featuring Monolake, James Ruskin, Surgeon, Kosmic Messenger, The Advent, Jay Denham, Space DJs, Joey Beltram, Drexciya, Planetary Assault Systems, then ‘The Freestyle Fusion’ compilation for Dynamite Joint recordings, featuring artists Stasis, Bandulu, Afronaught, The Cinematic Orchestra.
He has played all over the world and continues to this day.
