Father Funk is releasing his long-awaited debut album ‘Heavy Rotation’ on his favourite day of the year – 420! Not only is it his first full record but it is also the first release on his brand new label ‘Funk Therapy’. The new album will be available on April 20th in all major digital stores across 270 countries.

After signing with legendary agency and former label Finger Lickin’, Father Funk quickly became one of the biggest names in Breakbeat and Ghetto Funk. Fresh off the back of two Canada tours earlier this year and the 1st anniversary of his own successful Bristol based night ‘Father Funk’s Church of Love’, the father has cemented himself as one of the freshest tastemakers in the UK right now.

Taking huge inspiration from the disco and funk sounds of the 70’s and 80’s he has been writing music for over 10 years having released 5 EP’s and numerous singles on labels such as Ghetto Funk, Adapted Records and Scour Records to name a few. His back catalogue includes remixes for the likes of Dub Pistols and Fort Knox Five including many bootleg remixes that have also amassed huge numbers on Soundcloud.

This debut record is the first full release that is completely original and free from his best-known sampling work. It captures the energy of the funk and soul golden years whilst combining it with modern dance music and disco culture, not sticking to one particular genre. With over 3 years in the making the father has been able to collaborate with some of the freshest names in the scene, including London rap duo Too Many T’s, Ghetto Funk legends WBBL and Slynk, Canadian hip hop group Illvis Freshly and neo-soul singer Hilary Beckett.

Speaking on the new release Will Williamson aka Father Funk said:
“I think the album is a bit of a lost art these days, and as someone who still very much enjoys listening to them, I wanted to bring back this mentality of writing songs as a collective artwork, not just as floor fillers or money makers. ‘Heavy Rotation’ is not just for dance floors but for front rooms, backyards and long journeys. I hope you enjoy it is as much as I enjoyed making it.”

Long time collaborators Father Funk & Bear Twists team up for their first EP release as a duo, 4 tasty cuts of medical grade funky bass music, seamlessly blending the sounds of funk, disco and hip hop with the more modern sounds of glitch hop, garage and drum & bass. These are tracks for the dance floor as well as the home listener - just as bass driven as they are driven by their musicality and soul. The “Disco Biscuits” EP has the energy and charm of the pairs notorious bootlegs (played by DJs all over the world) but this time more instrumental, with fresh production, live instrumentation and a more varied sound palette. Festival hero Captain Flatcap presents his debut Swing & Bass EP 'Fowl Play'. Expect an eargasm of some of his squelchiest and wobbliest bangers to date! They will make you go quackers!

'Fowl Play' kicks off the EP with 140BPM wobbler which takes Bassline House style synths and applies them to a Dubstep rhythm along with Flatcap's trademark folky instrumental samples to boot!

'Bang Bang Boogie' brings up the tempo with a feel good hip shaker that would be any Rappers Delight!

'Quacky Baccy' is a horn laced Glitch Hop growler that will melt your face off and leave you smiling about it at the same time.

The final track of the release 'I Spy' is a mid-tempo banger with flamenco style guitar throughout and glitchy bass synths, with a smooth guest vocal from Kurnel MC. The EP also contains an instrumental version that bangs just as hard as the vocal version!
