Rife with hard hitting bass-lines and punchy pounding drums, Find A Way To Survive, is an exploration into my darker side. A ravaged love letter to self-doubt and insecurities.  In the face of all these inner demons, we survive, and find out we were stronger than we ever thought possible.

Bio:
Father Figure is the genre-bending brainchild of producer/DJ/vocalist Matt Weishaupt (aka Matty Dubz), launched in 2017 and transformed into a formidable duo in 2022 with the addition of longtime live collaborator Matt McLaren. 

Based in Albany, NY, the duo draws deep from the soul of Golden Era NY hip-hop—think J Dilla, DJ Premier, Pete Rock—while branching into the lush textures of electronic music and the improvisational spirit of the jam scene. The result? A sonic experience that’s both nostalgic and boundary-pushing.

From gritty, bassy boom-bap beats to expansive, immersive soundscapes, their music is a living collage—always evolving, always vibing.

Father Figure has lit up stages at premier festivals including Elements Music & Arts Festival, Camp Bisco, Dreamscape, Fire Lights, Karnival of the Arts, Big Dub, and NY Harvest Fest, among many others. They’ve supported a wide range of artists such as Pretty Lights, CloZee, Manic Focus, Michal Menert, Maddy O’Neal, Saxsquatch, Of The Trees, SoDown, Tripp St. and Marvel Years, bringing their unique blend of head-nodding grooves and electronic energy to every crowd they touch.
