Last year, they drained all the electricity from Ljubljana in the middle of their set and were forced to finish prematurely. A new year, a new opportunity! Haris Pilton and Chakka Svraka are Kali Fat Dub. Lone wolves joined in the struggle against empty activist slogans, with post-apocalyptic ethno dub on the one and Balkan slam poetry on the other hand. The fearless Haris (The Ufoslavians, Doggy Brasco), famed for his wild DJ parties, hits with a bunch of genres, unobtrusively flowing from one to another. The common thread of dub runs through the needles of ethno, punk, drum ’n’ bass, trip-hop and reggae. Meanwhile, the many voices of MC Chakka (Zion Crew, Golem …) weave fascinating stories about life around us. They’re bassing on over to MENT with their album “Nakot Azrielov”.

01. KALIFAT DUB ‘NAKOT AZRIELOV’ (POSITIVE REALITY RECORDS): Buntovnici bez presedana
Bez obzira na to imenovali njihov glazbeni izraz spoken pub dubom, post apocalyptic ethno steampunk dubom ili jednostavno rock bendom, Kaliaft Dub jedinstvena je glazbena pojava na regionalnoj rock sceni koja zaslužuje pažnju publike i medija. Za sebe kažu da se informiraju, zabavljaju, prenose poruke, buče, educiraju, sviraju, pjevaju pričaju, recitiraju… i gotovo da su potpuno u pravu. Već na prethodnom albumu ‘’Ringišpil iz Haada’’ 2015. bilo je jasno da je Kalifat dub ubojita formacija pripovjedača priča Chakke Svrake i glazbenog kreativca Harisa Piltona. U pitanju je zagrebačko-ljubljanska skupina koja svojim stihovima razbija sve tabue i dogme, poziva na bunt, pokazuje prstom na društvene tumore, visoko u zrak diže srednji prst i šaku, priča o ljudskoj izopačenosti, ogovara političke anomalije… Njihova poezija je mračna i iskrena, pojačana sampleovima informativnih emisija i nevjerojatnim dub grooveom. Svojevrsni nastavak projekta Golem, ali uz naglašeni dub zvuk i pojačanu priču o apokalipsi koja traje uz njihov soundtrack ispunjen zaraznim plesnim ritmovima. Obavezno preslušati, informirati se, zaplesati…!

The new edition of Kali Fat Dub we begin with a story of the old woman Bejzi who received a task  
from the military during the war exactly 20 years ago to take care of the seeds of, as it was 
told to her, imported tomatoes. Without knowing, she was growing cannabis... 

Born in the swamps, living in the swamps
with not much enchanted, she'll die disappointed, 
rusts and oxidizes from excessive despair 
and hides crocodile tears behind dark glasses 
steers in the slippers, cries in the pillow
falters a lot, doesn't yell but whispers
she will burn all the incense sticks and tears all the posters, 
digest all lies and all the perforating gunshot wounds
She doesn't listen speeches that it is time for a change 
because everywhere she turns, Fatamorgana escapes 
from her swollen head she throws thoughts like bricks:
festering, burning, hurting, sweating, this is called diving in shit. 
Granny is burning the good old plywood 
Shimi/Shimi Yo and all smells of epoxy
I see evil because everybody smells of sulfur
plaster in the nose, head in the bag 
and let them pour salt in the wound
