Opus Black is the brainchild of Michael Gray (Full Intention, MGNY) and Andy Haeffele (Crystal Clear, Mob Serenade).

Following an introduction from a mutual friend and a slightly hungover meeting on the way back from ADE, the pair decided to combine forces musically and see what would happen when producers traditionally from different scenes collided on a tune.

The result is a solid mix of filtered disco house that tips its hat to Stardust and the other French masters. Combine this with catchy vocals, harking back to early Royksopp (courtesy of Andy himself and co-writer Stella Attar) and you’ve got something good.

The vocals describe that feeling, where no matter where you look, you keep catching a glimpse of that certain someone.

Electronic Youth turn in probably their best remix to date. A production duo who smashed it all over Ibiza this summer and hotly tipped to make their mark in 2014 their remix is deep, warm and lush. A Depeche Mode-esque feel compliments the vocal hooks creating an aural delight!

The next release on Light my Fire comes courtesy of Zurich’s Fat Sushi, who recently impressed with their ‘My Place’ EP on Off Recordings. On ‘Hypnotic’ the duo presents three resourceful club tracks consisting of elastic bass lines, epic breaks and a good pinch of humour to keep it fresh.

‘Problems’ is crafted for the peak time: areal synths chase over a plump bed of bass, elevated by a looped guitar riff and sweet vocal hooks. Next, ‘Hypnotic’ sways through the night, lighting up the dance floor with feel-good vibes. Stefan Mint, who has previously release on Groove On, takes the track’s title quite literal and delivers a hypnotic tech house remix made for the wee hours. Great stuff! Lastly, we are treated to a healthy portion of 80s power, as ‘What You Need’ combines retro synths with modern house sounds.

His two track EP titled as "Ouranos / Pathos" is such a perfect combination of spring storytelling melodies and deep house groove. Melbourne-based duo Arm In Arm, aka Eliza Jacobs and Luke Moore-Martin, emerged on the dance music scene last year after being discovered by Blaufield Music label bosses Booka Shade, reaching number five in the Top 100 release’s chart on Beatport and number three in the Melodic House and Techno chart with their ‘Nightfly’ EP, not to mention their single ‘Hunger For Your Vibe’ which came backed by a huge remix from Italian duo Moonwalk. Following up, they now return with another powerful EP entitled ‘Warrior Spirit’, including a remix from Get Physical Music favourite Ryan Murgatroyd.

‘Warrior Spirit Original Mix’ opens the EP with melancholy and gracefulness with delicate vocal hooks alongside progressive buildups of bass with emotive tones throughout, before Ryan Murgatroyd’s remix introduces cracking snares, effervescent claps and atmospheric sweeps. From Brest in the southwest near the Polish border, Dmitry Molosh's sphere of influence reigns far beyond his homeland's borders alongside the likes of Michael A. At the cutting edge of underground dance music, the Belarusian has seen his music signed to a galaxy of high-profile imprints that include Cid Inc.'s Replug, DJ Zombi's Beat Boutique and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. Supported by leading lights that include Guy J, Nick Warren and Max Graham, Molosh's powerful, melodic sound has seen a quartet of remixes for Proton Music now complemented by a debut original track. "Little Friends" is thus a dynamically percussive affair that glistens with glorious melodic layers that ripple in and out of proceedings in smoothly filtered fashion. Elegant string passages lilt delicately over a heavyweight bassline as they evolve gently, coming to a subtle denouement at the breakdown alongside wonderful ambient effects and emotive piano layer. Rhythm and melody combine once in the second half to impressive effect in a classy track of maturity and skill.

Making their collaborative debut via "Avem" on June 2020's "Stoyote" EP. LADS & Traumhouse can both boast extensive production catalogues for a wealth of influential imprints. The German / South African partnership of LADS has seen the duo release a stunning array of material on the likes of Nie Wieder Schlafen, Rebellion der Traumer and Guy J's Lost & Found with a clutch of original EPs for Proton Music that include 2017's "Miss Jean", 2018's "Hagel" and 2020's aforementioned "Stoyote". From a 2016 debut for Cirque Du Son, Traumhouse has been a regular on the iconic A Must Have with a clutch of other releases on Magician on Duty, Sag & Tre and Paul Hazendonk's Manual Music. Joining forces for a second time on Proton, the LADS & Traumhouse remix revels in smooth melodic interplay that captures the essence of Molosh's original while transforming it through trademark innovative use of original components. "Little Friend" thus becomes a glorious free-flowing piece, enhanced by cavernous rolling rhythm and fizzing off-beat hats. Contemplative and delicately constructed, the trio's remix glistens from start to finish with a stunning and masterful level of production.

Imran Khan continues to develop support from fans and peers alike with each successive release. A growing force in the underground dance arena, the UK artist has continued to see his music signed to an ever-growing list of highly-regarded imprints that began with early work for Clinique Recordings in 2016. Since then, Stellar Fountain, Balkan Connection and GMJ & Matter's new Meanwhile imprint have continued to play host to Khan's music. Moreover, Particles and Proton Music have featured heavily in his portfolio with 2019's "Organik" and "Sunsweat" EPs representing the latter with typical grace and aplomb. Redolent in his trademark deep and atmospheric sound palette, the Imran Khan remix is the perfect advert for modern progressive house. A dynamic groove and thumping beat carry the track forward as floating melodic lines with their heart in Molosh's original appear over a hypnotic arpeggio. Reversed strings add another layer of intrigue while a deliciously evocative piano phrase extends "Little Friends" in a magnificent new direction.

Swiss duo Fat Sushi is currently making its trademark on the underground clubland by releasing tracks and remixes on some of the most respected labels in the game: Suara, Einmusika, Katermukke, Steyoyoke or Hive Audio to name a few. Being in the industry for almost two decades before the peculiarly named pairing decided to join forces in 2013, you can hear the inspiration of various musical styles in their productions: heavy basslines, uplifting melodies and carefully chosen vocals – from deep house to techno spectrum.

With gigs all over Europe and the US, the past few months have been pretty hectic for the Zurich based guys. But there’s no sign of the cold fat fish slowing down: while constantly hitting the Beatport charts with original productions and remixes for the likes of Fritz Kalkbrenner or Henry Saiz, the guys are also curating their own Fat Wax imprint. Talking about ‘Fat Wax’: being praised by Dancing Astronaut as ‘one of the underground’s most exciting new imprints', the label already showcases an impressive list of artists involved: From Chicago House legend DJ Pierre to balearic vibes from Kyodai to Berlin influences by Marquis Hawkes or UK’s John Monkman.
