Piperlain combines the sounds of acoustic, alternative pop/folk/rock and electronica with emotive, passionate vocals.

Formed by singer/songwriters Benjamin Knight and Rebecca Voorn-Knight, the Piperlain sound has been compared to a contemporary version of The Cranberries and The Corrs with a sound in the vein of Grace Potter meets Lola Marsh.

Originating from The Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, influences for Piperlain include Arcade Fire, Tame Impala, Empire of the Sun, The Cranberries, Pink Floyd, Blondie and The Doors. The Piperlain sound has been described as “poetic” and “quirky” by The Grove Studios and “emotive” with “layers of depth” by Sony.

In 2017 Piperlain released a concept album 'Mother Mourned' which recount the personal and emotional journey of two people growing up with and caring for mothers with serious illnesses. Nominated for an AIR award, Mother Mourned received positive praise from industry professionals and media outlets. 

In 2023 Piperlain released the EP 'Shine on You' which saw the duo achieve an official entry in the 2023 ARIA awards for Best Independent Release.

The latest single 'Running Through The Fields' was recorded, mixed and mastered at Fireswamp Studios by producer Josh Schuberth. Josh has collaborated with accomplished artists including Josh Pyke, Amber Lawrence, Fanny Lumsden, and The Wolfe Brothers.
