Niju - Little Pond

RBR, what is it ?
Reptilian Business Records aims to be an independent label of hybrid music,
with the goal of promoting the fusion of electronic rhythms, organic samples
and traditional instruments, through the vision of local and international
artists of all kinds. From tribal house to dubstep UK, from psychedelic cumbia
to dark disco, from slow trance to indie dance, everything that purrs and
reflects its scales, which squeaks and waves at the same time: reptilian music.

About the VA
This VA puts the spotlight on 8 countries, represented by twenty artists from
radically different scenes, from the Parisian organic underground to the
dubstep soundsystem scene of Brooklyn, to the downtempo and schnekno of
Berlin and Frankfurt, Swiss lo-fi , Japanese experimental, or slow house
drawn from Brazilian forests, not to mention the participation of
locals from the french southwest who offer organic jungle, slowed dark electro
or tribal slow trance... A musical diversity which has a common denominator
love for psychedelia, distortion, depth of bass and sharp rhythms like the
claws of an arboreal monitor lizard.

Revueltas nace a partir de la necesidad y ganas de juntar a mujeres creadores chilenas. Tal como señala Carla Valenti, surge de “las ganas de tener este espacio, de poder visualizar el trabajo de las mujeres de Chile, que encuentro que todas son riquísimas y que admiro mucho. Creo que cada una por separado, me ha inspirado en algún momento de mi vida”.

The delicate fabric of reality tore open at the coordinates known as Close to Monday, spilling a very special version of Time. Special because, in a deliciously confusing turn of aural events, Time turns out to be highly relative here. There's a distinct vibe of the 80s, reverberating through the psyched synth line, the huge reverb on the snare and the vocal track. At the same time, the turbo-charged groove seems to come straight from some faraway utopia. At the age of 87, when asked about the lesson his long life had taught him, the philosopher Bertrand Russell had a simple, twofold message - one part being rational and the other moral. He advised us, who live long after his death, to consider all the facts, whether we like them or not, but above all to choose love over hate - to be tolerant and not antagonistic. In this field between facts and what we make of them, between cold logic and caring understanding, we are called to calm down, reflect and listen to our inner voice.

This EP is an invitation to do just that, be it at a festival, in nature or the comfort of our home. Warm and playful, powerful and intricate, arousing and soothing, it is a bridge between a open eyed summer dream and a vibrating dance floor; a slow melodic journey, whose fullness embraces us, while its tingling details call us on. A bouquet of remixes by Narcisse (Mex), Seyde, LVND, Jonas Fasching and Jati Div adds some check, bounce and drive to get those dreamy booties shaking.
