Fresh n' inspired after their Italy vacay, Avec Paisir Records founders and Isterika friends Frinda di Lanco and Hendrik Stein take us on eclectic journey through the sounds of cosmic, disco, tribal, dreamy house and leftfield electronic influences.

Their contribution to the series is a follow up of their trip to Sofia for our party not so long ago when we got to spend some quiality time together, exchange good nrg and enjoy countless hours of good music. <:

Almost 6 years ago Frinda Di Lanco and Hendrik Stein met in a small, fumy bar in Berlin Kreuzberg, where one was playing records and the other one danced. While the AOR and Balearic-aficionado Hendrik ran the infamous Disco Train with Charlie Smooth at Crack Bellmer, Frinda was regularly spinning records at Cafe Wendel, defining herself as a record collector with a deep knowledge of Funk, Soul and Jazz.
Since 2018 the couple can be found as a DJ duo with a deep love for obscure vinyl records. Their sets are a vibrant mixture ranging from cosmic, disco, Italo, new beat, proto house and they will never fail to surprise their audience with some unexpected NDW, Schlager or other treasures from all over the world.

You can find their traces at Berlin’s Heideglühen, where they appeared straight from a sweat-inducing match on the tennis court at 10 in the morning or at Krakow’s Spitalna 1, where they emptied the main floor and kept the whole crowd dancing on a small side-floor to a myth-enshrouded 135bpm cosmic disco set. In 2020 they founded their Record Label "Avec Paisir" and re-released an enchanting collection of Austrian Cosmic Tracks from the 90ies. The second Release is just in the making and will be another example for their love to the unpredictable and eclecticism.

Isterika Mix 016: Frinda di Lanco & Hendrik Stein

As Eternal Love, cheeky chappies Fede and Edo are injecting that bit of extra joy into their output that we're all in need of. 

The Milanese duo's digging endeavours aren't confined to one sound or style, you'll find them scouring dusty crates for everything from lovers rock and jazz to Italian dream house and rock music. If they had to put a label on what they play though, they'd term it as SOUL music in all its different shapes and forms.

They've been gathering a healthy following across Europe and beyond through their tasteful sets and lighthearted approach, this year they've hit the UK, Belgium, Spain and South America, to name a few, but up next you'll find them closer to home at Polifonic Festival. The Polifonic link extends to curation too, the guys are also involved with an upcoming VA release, put together with the help of Yu Su, Lipelis and Benedek... Keep your eyes peeled for that. 

On the topic of releases, while Fede and Edo may have spent a lot of time digging and selecting, more recently they've been putting time into production. This August will see the release of their debut EP via firm favourites Planet Trip - trust us this one is a perfect soundtrack for summer.

Now, the pair tell us they tend to opt for the more "home listening" side of their collections when it comes to mixes and radio shows, but on this occasion they're going against the grain with a mix of the kind pop sounds you can expect to hear them playing this summer.

Made up of Balearic, disco, house and all that good stuff to make you move, their 'Shine A Light On' mix is soulful, sun-soaked and best accompanied, as the boys tell us, with a nice glass of cold white wine. Crack open a nice bottle and get stuck in...

One of the things that we love the most from the beloved berliner underground is the huge quantity of unknown/underrated djs that scene provides. The ones we decided to move here we always get surprised about dj's that one can see at the most filthy and infamous venues, being not strcktly necessary to go to Panorama Bar to see a nice set.

We introduce you this month to EXOTIKA, good friend and great selector. Joan Bernat the guy behind the name, is one of those obsessed diggers that are always in the search of the perfect beat and the warmest vibe. Balearic, downtempo, protohouse and everything in between is the leitmotif of the catalonian dj.

Member of the amazing collective "Ceremony", one of the hottest underground parties in Berlin, along with Nirel Nica, Llupe and Rafa (who already signed an MM Cast last year)

This time we are delighted to host one of Australia’s most compelling DJ / producers, @paul-jextra

The Sydney based, French native’s rise has felt meteoric on the back of recent output. His varied yet distinctly sonorous production, circulating mixes by some of the world’s most esteemed. Oscillating from bent boogie, street-soul, cosmic disco, reggae not reggae, and left-field dance music, Caravan’s eclectic influences are always felt through his synth-stroked, club bombs.

With every recent release including those on beloved Australian imprints @planettriprecords and @kenoathrecords the name Caravan continues to gain a cult following. 

His style is a unique blender of digging references and modern club sensibilities. Proof in his magic touch can be found in support from the likes of Antal, Paula Tape, John Gomez, CC Disco, Tako, Dar Disku and Stamp The Wax.

With plenty of club-ready melters still on the way, the rhythmic whiz will continue to bless ears through his own lane.
