Commissioned by The Lunar Ensemble for the centennial of Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire, this set of songs returns to the original French poems by Albert Giraud.  Inspired by the French traditions of art song and cabaret, these songs draw inspiration from the vivid colors Giraud includes in his poetry.  Each poem draws on connotation from, imagery of, and associations with, certain colors.

This is the first piece from the song cycle, moments colores, setting the poetry of Albert Giraud.  The poem describes drunken images, soaked in absinthe.

moments colorés is a song cycle which sets four poems from Albert Giraud's cycle Pierrot lunaire.  Each poem in this set draws on connotations from, imagery of, and associations with colors. 
This is the last song in the cycle, blancheurs sacreés (a sacred white), and describes the color white, as found in nature which comes to suggest innocence lost and longed for.
