Sometimes good music can actually be for free, like in the case with our one-off's. Next up as a contributor is Dublin-based DJ M4A4 who graces us with a lo-fi number called "Sciences", made together with Philip Box.

M4A4 has only been producing for about a year but you can tell right away from listening to his previous tracks that we're looking at pure producing talent here. This is confirmed yet again with "Sciences" where lush pads, raw percussions and one of the illest basslines we heard for a while combines to create an irresistable under water-lo-fi groover. SEER - This Lethargy

@Seertrax is made up of @Maroje-1 and @m-parent who also have solo releases under their belt. The two of them live in Brooklyn and separately run their own parties. They are both proud studio nerds and record everything in one take using machines. There's very little that's done in their digital audio workstation. The label @Chem-Club-Records started in 2016 and during its infancy has made a focus to highlight the parallels between functional dance tracks and introverted electronic music without concentrating too much on genres. 

The track selected for the @DarkScienceElectro premiere was absolutely the standout track for me on the 4 track EP that will be released at the end of July. This track switches up the feel of the otherwise straight-forward Techno/EBM feel of the record by introducing broken beats. A melodic pad then leads the way and makes for a colorful soundscape throughout the song. This release is available as of yesterday on both vinyl and digital.

Victrola is the duo of Antonio "Eze" Cuscinà and Carlo Smeriglio from Messina, Italy. The band formed in 1979 but shortly thereafter relocated to Florence take part in a rich musical scene alongside Neon, Pankow, Alexander Robotnick, and Diaframma. Beginning as a 4-piece (two guitarists, bassist, drummer) they slimmed down to a synthesizer and guitar-based duo by 1982. Their sole release was the now classic ”Maritime Tatami"/"A Game Of Despair" EP from 1983, which we reissued in 2012. 

‘Born From The Water’ is a 12 song collection of unreleased demos recorded between 1983 and 1985. The band sent us over 100 cassettes, through which we dug to compile the first volume of their archival darkwave ballads. They used an array of Roland synthesizers (TR-606, TB-303, TR-909, Juno 6) plus a Korg Polysix, Yamaha DX7, Casio VL-Tone VL-1, DR-55 Dr. Rhythm, and Fender Stratocaster and Jazz Bass. Some of the songs would later appear on various compilations, but the versions presented here are unique. Victrola engulfs the listener with trance-inducing synth lines, oblique minor-key bass lines, angular guitar riffs, and melancholic vocals. The songs tell tales of youth, love, karma, and the decline of civilization in modern times. Each song has been carefully remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The records come housed in a jacket designed by Eloise Leigh, which uses motifs from the band’s sole release and includes an insert with liner notes and photos.

Sound Synthesis is the alias of Keith Farrugia from Malta. He started releasing electro music in 2009 on the Paul Blackford’s label Militant Science, and after a break, he is back behind the machine! 
Today, this project focuses more on infused melancholic sounds to electro bass driven music.
This EP is made of 5 tracks, and it includes a collaboration with Datawave (Mechatronica, Crobot Muzik ) and to conclude the release, Deemphasis (owner of Ukonx Recordings) experiments a remix of one track.

The EP will be available as digital format on the UKONX Bandcamp but also on the major distribution channels, such as iTunes, JunoDownload, Spotify, Amazon and Google Play.

Jason Letkiewicz has always swum against the musical tides, flitting between different solo pseudonyms (including Steve Summers, Death Commando and Alan Hurst) and collaborative projects (most notably Mutant Beat Dance) in order to explore different aspects of his leftfield inspirations. With his latest release, a first full-length outing for Artificial Dance entitled Mirage Information, the Chicago-based artist is operating under an alias that celebrates this approach: Opposing Currents.

It’s an alias he’s used once before – for a track featured on Chronditic Sound’s 2015 cassette compilation Non-Christian Referent – but Mirage Information sounds like an artistic rebirth. Densely layered, mind-altering and often intense, the album’s seven tracks update the Cold War paranoia and pulsating electronics of EBM and industrial music for today’s complex and chaotic political climate.

Throughout, Letkiewicz smothers off-kilter drum machine rhythms and throbbing, body-jacking synthesizer basslines in untold layers of hazy audio detail, creating a dystopian sound soup out of which alien electronic melodies, psychedelic acid lines and barely audible vocals emerge. At times, such as on angry opener “Lying Awake”, the extra-terrestrial “Dissolve” and foreboding “Shallow Grave”, we’re invited to dance in the darkness in celebration of impending doom. On other occasions, such as the poignant and melancholic closing cut “It Awaits”, Letkiewicz simply seems exasperated at the chaos that is life in the 21st century. It makes for a genuinely arresting and thought-provoking listen.

A few years later when I finally started dj’ing I looked for a copy on vinyl and eventually paid $50 for it on eBay. It remains, to this day, to be one of the best uses of my money ever—a true investment. We all know Rother has had an unmatched impact on the genre we love, but this track in particular changed the course of my musical journey and still inspires me to this day. Thanks to the stems included on the vinyl I was able to deconstruct this wonder and put my spin on it.
