Feonix - Uprise Audio Takeover Mix

Dub Inversion is a personal take on Dub music by Andrea Deplano, working under his two aliases: L-3P and Ness. Both identities meet here in a conversation across tempos and textures, where Dub’s deep-rooted essence is reimagined through minimalistic structures and spatial experimentation.

From high energy rhythms to slower, more spacious grooves, the release explores delay, reverb, and repetition with a raw yet refined approach. This is not a nostalgic homage, Dub Inversion is a transformation. A split self reuniting through bass, space, and pulse.

Cosmic Bridge continues its recent streak of releases with a three-track EP from Spanish producer Vromm that reinforces the label’s dedication to expanding the lexicon of UK dance music. For The New Dawn embraces wider melodic and compositional potentials while remaining anchored in the same bass-heavy, forward thinking mold fans have come to love. Taking inspiration from beyond electronic music, Vromm puts forward the sort of versatile take on drum & bass that has already earned him praise from Resident Advisor and Mixmag. 

The EP opens with the title track, an anthemic electronic ballad for the summer featuring Agama. Written over the space of a few years, "For The New Dawn" combines a steady minimal beat with delicate sound design, bright synthesizer chords with splashes of improvised piano and horns. Agama’s voice brings the whole thing together, and her catchy chorus is sure to bring joy to many an unsuspecting dancefloor over the summer. As Om Unit puts it, "this will be the last tune of many a clued up DJ." "Restart" closes the A side with a simple, minimal vibe. Originally intended as a dubstep production, the track morphed as Vromm upped the tempo. Beginning as an eyes-down roller, Vromm adds layers of melodies and rhythms to reach something more euphoric yet still subdued. 

The B side is dedicated to "Stargazing," a 9-minute collaboration between Vromm and Om Unit. Arguably the label’s most ambitious production to date, "Stargazing" is also a perfect snapshot of the influences and intentions that have underpinned it from the start. Began as a melodic draft by Vromm, the track came together as the two producers added ideas from jazz, ambient and fusion. The result is an epic ride that blends organic and electronic, a production not obviously aimed at the dancefloor and yet still capable of shaking dancers alive. 

From the New Dawn is released 6th July 2018 on Cosmic Bridge Records on 12" vinyl and digital formats.

Part 1

After a small hiatus, Uprise Audio burst back into action with their next release ‘Parallel EP’ by Kyrist - one of the hottest properties in Drum And Bass right now. Kyrist marks her effortless transition to the 140 realm with four cutting edge tracks displaying a plethora of styles, technique and soul. The brilliance on display here showcases why she has made such an impact on the Drum And Bass scene, and signals for the world of Dubstep to take note and pay attention.

The EP kicks off with ‘Cry’ which as suggested in the title is tinged in emotion. Haunting melodic vocals are paired with an energetic palette of percussion and intelligent sound design riding the rhythm track concocting an array of sonic bliss. 

‘Chime’ begins with a much sharper intention and with a snare that you can feel in your chest. With a colder approach, the emotions are stripped back to allow the sub bass to resonate freely, giving space to growling mids and tense riser FX, summarised into a heavy tech step, space age feel.

The third track, ‘Gateway’, conjures beauty with space. Sticking to a tech stepping agenda laid down by the first two tracks, the intricate arrangement of mid-range sounds form a unique groove which carries the listener on a journey through intergalactic soundscapes.

The EP closes with ‘Solace’ which continues the cosmic journey we have have embarked upon. Jungle-esque break beats are navigated by forward thinking sound design elements, creating an ever shifting groove pattern within its detailed array of sounds. 

‘Parallel EP’ is a classy first outing from Kyrist in to the dubstep world and stylistically could not have landed on a more suited home than Uprise Audio. The release acts as a serious statement of intent from the label who burst back into the new year, reinvigorated to continue their ethos of developing new and exciting artists in to some of Dubsteps brightest talents.
