Beyond The Tracks is Birmingham's newest and most-exciting festival, coming to Eastside City Park in Digbeth over the weekend of the 15th-17th of September. 

The official opening day of the festival will have particular focus on electronic music, with supreme innovators Orbital set to headline — listen to an exclusive mix from the legendary UK duo right here, right now! 

Other acts on the bill for Beyond The Tracks include Leftfield and Faithless, alongisde music from Jagwar Ma, the Magic Door Residents, Jukes of Hazard, Deano Ferrino, Jagwar Ma Higher Intelligence Agency and Pixx.

In the evening, there'll be an official after-party for Beyond The Tracks commencing in one of the city's best-loved venues, The Blackbox. Behind the decks you'll find Orbital's Paul Hartnoll spinning to the early hours, alongside UK hero A Guy Called Gerald.

Those of you that have been following my work over the past years know that I am big fan of the art of editing, both, digging for and playing the edits of others and manufacturing them myself. Besides the many ones that have been released officially I made countless ones in the past years just to enhance my sets. Doing edits is simply a lot of fun, its a similar approach to remixing but yet different. There are no limits, from just editing tracks (in the literal sense) to make them longer (or shorter), DJ friendlier, or mash an instrumental of one track together with an acapella from another one to building up a complete new production and arrangement around an acapella or an instrumental, there are no limits to re-interpret the respected work of others. Today I decided to start sharing these works with you. I start today out with an edit that uses the elements of Kraftwerk’s “It’s More Fun To Compute“ and the vocals of Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force’s “Planet Rock” and put them over a rocking Electro beat.
