His work can also be heard on the soundtracks of numerous movies by the Comic Actor and Social Satirist Chevy Chase, including: Fletch Almost Came Back; National Lampoon's Kwanzaa Vacation; Foul Play; Bad Meat; and Nothing But Trouble.

Born in upstate New York into a musical family, Carmela had an early love of The Great American Songbooks and Jazz.
She has played in clubs in New York and Los Angles and place in between as well as performing overseas. She has also appeared in several feature films and theater pieces.
She has recorded nine studio albums, the last seven containing mostly or all original compositions, with some co-writes with some of New Orlean’s best musicians.
For the last nine years she has lived full time in New Orleans and performed in many clubs as well as Jazz Fest with Paul Sanchez and The Rolling Road Show and her own spot in French Quarter Fest.
She also has appeared regularly at The New Orleans Jazz Museum.
Her last two albums were a departure from jazz and feature unusual instrumentation and arrangements.
