After the huge crossover success of the original back in 2006, the artist formerly known as Joey Negro, Dave Lee has reworked one of the biggest tracks of his career into an original Disco anthem. Keeping the peak time energy up but injecting more Chic-esque Funk than you can shake your rump to, there was only ever one person who could elevate the original into a modern disco classic. Taka Boom’s powerful vocals still soar away but this time it’s over crisp Clav licks, effortless rhythm Guitar, sublime Piano, and sharp Synth work all underpinned by some sultry disco bass guitar action.

One of the OG Defected House Masters, Dennis Ferrer’s relationship with the iconic London label is checkpointed by a vast number of innovative originals, guiding house through many eras from soul and gospel to Afro and techno. Now renowned as one of the instantly recognisable anthems of modern house and the Defected catalogue, ‘Hey Hey’ receives two Afro house remixes from Jack Back and Da Capo & Kitty Amor. One of electronic music’s most recognisable artists, David Guetta created the Jack Back alias to return to his house roots, releasing the chart-topping Defected hit ‘(It Happens) Sometimes’ in 2018. His remix of Dennis Ferrer’s classic has been widely teased in his sets, including a DJ Mag livestream which resulted in a tidal wave of fan support; now the French titan presents the hotly anticipated ‘Hey Hey’, complete with pitched percussion steering us towards moments of tension and smooth, deep release. Up next on the package, South African producer Da Capo joins forces with a pioneer of the burgeoning UK Afro house scene, Mahaba Music label boss Kitty Amor. Dave Lee returns under his AC Soul Symphony moniker for a fantastic updated version of the cult early 80’s Rose Royce track "Still In Love".

The track is much more like a remix than a cover, using the original parts with lots of great musicianship present all riding over the fat bass synth driven groove.

Original singer Ricci Benson features on vocals with Tony Remy on guitar, Michele Chiavarini on keys, Simon Williscroft on sax and an 8 piece live string section.

Ricci sounds almost Chaka Khan-ish with the anthemic song shining in the Joey Negro Love Symphony Mix. There is also a groovy Jazz Funk Dub, Reprise and Accapella versions for various times in the day/night/evening/morning.
