ALBERTO GURRISI
Hammond organist, pianist, keyboard player

Born in Milan, Italy in 1984.
He started studying classical piano at the age of eight. 
In 1998 he meets jazz, studying piano with Fabrizio Bernasconi and harmony with master Filippo Daccò. From 2003 to 2007 studied jazz piano with Italian masters Paolo Birro and Mario Rusca at "Civici Corsi di Jazz di Milano", growing up in Milan musical scene. From 2003 he studies jazz organ on his own, meeting also some of the greatest american jazz organists like Joey deFrancesco, Sam Yahel, Larry Goldings, Tony Monaco.
In a few years he starts working with some great musicians in Italy, including the great guitar player Franco Cerri (2007-2017), the american harmonica player Sugar Blue (2006-7) and Max Ionata organ trio feat. Gege’ Telesforo (2013-2016).
From 2003 he works on many musical projects with the guitar player Alessandro Usai. 'Spare Time Trio' (from 2004) and 'Alex Usai Blues Band' (from 2009) played in many italian clubs and festivals and produced four albums.
In 2011 he moves to Torino. He met many musicians and started working with his own band including Gianni Denitto (alto sax), Gianni Virone (tenor sax) and Alessandro Minetto (drums), producing his first leader album ”888" in 2014.
He co-produced albums with guitarist Alessio Menconi, clarinetist Alfredo Ferrario, trumpeter Pepe Ragonese, guitarist/singer Eddie Martin, and others.
He moves to Rome for 2 years, where he hit the local scene and starts touring with trumpet player Fabrizio Bosso’s groups, including the recording session “Blue Moka feat. Fabrizio Bosso” edited in 2018. In 2015 he starts touring with the ‘Two Late’ organ & drums duo with drummer Laura Klain, joining important venues and playing as rhythm section for many soloists like gutarist Bebo Ferra, saxophonists Tino Tracanna and Francesco Cafiso, vibraphonist Andrea Dulbecco and others.
He's now working as sideman of musicians all over Italy as trumpeter Giovanni Amato, saxophonists Rosario Giuliani and Emanuele Cisi and many others.
From 2018 he leads ‘Alberto Gurrisi American Trio’ featuring Seamus Blake on tenor sax and Adam Nussbaum on drums. The trio toured through Italy in april 2018 and it’s coming back in 2020 with Jerry Bergonzi on tenor.
He also had the opportunity to play with, Joe Cohn, Jim Mullen, Doug Webb, Rob Sudduth, Darryl Jones, Torino Jazz Orchestra plus Carla Bley-Steve Swallow-Andy Sheppard, Enrico Rava, Flavio Boltro, Mauro Negri, Nico Gori, Roberto Gatto, Gianni Cazzola, Gege’ Munari, Lorenzo Tucci, Daniele Scannapieco, Amedeo Ariano, Massimo Manzi, Alfredo Golino, Fabio Zeppetella, Umberto Fiorentino, Giovanni Falzone, Giovanni Giorgi, Enzo Zirilli, Michael Rosen, Frits Landesbergen, Roberto Rossi, Luigi Tessarollo, Dino Piana, Gianni Sanjust, Tiziana Ghiglioni, Emilio Soana, Paolo Tomelleri, Carlo Bagnoli and many other italian musicians.
