Lakeshouse first appeared on Paper in 2019, continuing a rich lineage of wonky Norwegian disco. We believed they were worthy successors to carry the torch on from the likes of Todd Terje and Lindstrøm. With Ubegrensa Harmoni, the first single from their forthcoming debut album, they have delivered on that promise. 

The original straddles disco, house and pop for a track that will be equally at home on daytime BBC 6 Music or a packed-to-the-gills festival dance tent. Nagging synth bells, NRG bass, vocoder vocal and an arrangement that works the dynamics mean this is set to become the sound of summer '25. Move over Inspector Norse, there's a new kid in town.

Ben Davis and Tom Lonsborough AKA Flash Atkins and 2 Billion Beats flex their production muscles with two different remixes and sounds. Their disco mix does what it says on the tin; keeping the hooky bells and upping the groove with added lush strings, pads, and a gorgeous, cosmic synth finale.

The stripped-back Flash Beats remix delves in to the other side of club culture. A broken beat, heavy synths, fifth pad, and the ubiquitous bells channel Joy Orbison, Overmono, and UK bass music for a banger that is the sound of now.

Lost in a world of static and solitude, the protagonist stumbles upon a lifeline: a pirate-like radio station broadcasting queer voices into the night. With each transmission, a sense of belonging grows stronger, turning isolation into connection.

Sonically, the track channels the romantic melancholy of Scott Walker and the bouncing pulse of early 80s synth-pop. Hologram Teen’s signature production—lush, cinematic, and rich in retro-futurist details—provides a funky and driving backdrop for Farrington’s velvet baritone.
“Fréquence Gaie” is the emotional core of “Captain Fluo”, a concept album that celebrates the underground culture of 1980s Paris: its gay bars, record shops, and radio waves that offered secret worlds to those who needed them most.

A delightful and groovey jazz house track from Japan! This incredibly rare find was pressed for Flower Records in 2003. The vinyl has two tracks, the 'Vocal Mix' featuring sweet vocals from the singer, Eico, herself and the 'Tool For Steppin' Edit', the instrumental.
