Welsh producer Harrison BDP is back on Phonica’s main label with the excellent ‘Easy Tiger EP’. It’s yet another impressively crafted 12” of his idiosyncratic take on House, Techno, Garage and beyond!

Once again, we were blown away with Harry’s grasp of producing a multitude of different electronic styles. The record launches with the melancholy-tinged Deep House/Garage crossover ‘Easy Tiger’ and its familiar vocal sample.

Per Hammar’s @dirtyhandsrec imprint delivers the debut LP, ‘Echoes Of A Galaxy’, from @pascal-benjamin this June, comprising twelve original compositions from the Dutch artist. 

Hailing from the Netherlands capital city of Amsterdam, producer and DJ Pascal Benjamin has been releasing his twist on raw, swinging, stripped-back House music since 2016 via the likes of SlapFunk, Eastenderz, Constant Sound and Yoyaku’s Aku among others. Here though he marks a milestone in his career with the unveiling of his inaugural album, coming via Malmö, Sweden-based artist Per Hammar’s Dirty Hands imprint.

Our next premiere comes from DJ Moonbeam, and is the first drop on SITU, a newly formed Lobster Theremin sub-label. DJ Moonbeam has been known to craft hazy cuts that drift through different shades of the Deep House spectrum. Apus De Soare showcases the producers evolving sound and ability to create tunes that are as apt for the dancefloor as they are for the home. 

Our fave is the title track Apus De Soare. It’s a slow burner with massive filter swoops and stabby chord rhythms. As the track progresses, you feel yourself leaving dancefloor as you ascend out of orbit and into space. Cosmic waves of arpeggiated synths find their way careening the mix, while the thumpy bassline steadies the ship throughout its voyage. Moonbeam has honed an eclectic palette of Deep House sounds and distilled it into something uniquely his own.

A trio of tasty house cuts can be found on Matthieu Faubourg’s ‘Apolo’ EP for Street Tracks. The French producer has already notched up an impressive set of releases for labels like Neovinyl, STRCTR, Smile For A While and childsplay, and positively shines on this new EP for the Waze &
Odyssey backed imprint.

The roots of garage house can be heard across all three cuts; ‘Too Strong’ leans on deep organ stabs, tight snare fills and a looping vocal, whilst ‘Fragrance’ deploys deft piano licks over crunchy drums and a lively bassline. Rounding off the EP, Faubourg unleashes an eccentric melody line over booming sub
bass on the title track, ‘Apolo’.
