Originally from the Isle of Skye, an island on the West Coast of Scotland, now residing in Inverness – the Capital of the Highlands, Duncan MacPherson AKA Terra runs the Counterterraism Mix Series on Soundcloud, alongside fellow music cognoscente’s @karlmarkham and @robdun2804.

Starting in 2020, the series has already welcomed industry heavy hitters such as Tronik Youth, The Robot Scientists, Duncan Gray, Machinegewehr, Hola Estrella, and Celestino (SXDNS curator) to mention just a small sample.

The Counterterraism Mix series was founded to help share and promote artists within the Slow Techno, Indie Dance and Dark Disco genres. Now with a growing listenership, it has cast the net wider, encompassing a plethora of styles including EBM, Italo Disco, Nu Disco, and guitar-heavy rifting tracks with Acid House overtones.

Within the series Duncan, Karl and Robbie alternate in offering up a monthly Counterterraism Residents mix which aims to take you on an hour-long journey through the wide range of styles they enjoy.

UGENIUS Radio #049 with The Journey (Best Of 2023 Part Two)

The two friends, Bruce the bat person and Vector Malevolent, combine their talents to deliver an explosive EP released on the Epicure Records label on March 27th.

At the heart of this EP lies the original track "Mé en Té", a bold creation that defies the conventions of cosmic dark disco, inviting both dance and introspective journeys.

"Mé en Té" is much more than just a musical track; it's a sensory experience where every note, every beat, transports the listener into a fascinating parallel universe. The composition is filled with surprises, including the unexpected arrival of a trumpet solo that enriches the sonic texture and adds palpable warmth to the whole.

Alemao, with his cosmic and euphoric vision, chooses to remove the trumpet to create an even more immersive atmosphere.

Cosmosolar, on the other hand, opts for an ultra-club remix, skillfully blending hypnotic acid sounds for an unforgettable dance experience.

F.U.R.O. takes us on an epic journey, slower but equally captivating, evoking almost the epic battles of Final Fantasy game.

Giorgio Isaev, meanwhile, offers a dark and rave remix, evoking the feverish atmosphere of Berlin warehouses in the early hours.

Finally, Nick Hanzo closes the show with his signature rhythmic and transporting beats, adding an extra dose of raw energy and irresistible groove to this already impressive collection.

For our 50th anniversary we present you three unreleased, hypnotic Acid-versions of PsychoPlasma „Forbidden Planet“, a tune that was recorded in 1994 and came out as 12“ on Tanjobi Records in 1996. We already re-released it on Forms & Figures a few years ago. These other three versions were recorded by Alex Krüger during one night and were based on the same bass- and drum patterns of the PsychoPlasma version from few days earlier that were still in sequencer memory.

At the time Alex was still working with an all analogue setup that was based around Rolands X0X series and cv/gate sequencers, so everything sounds very early 1990s, trippy, raw and was arranged and recorded in real-time on cheap equipment. 

Some inspiration obviously came from Laurent Garnier’s „Fnac“ label, that we know Alex liked a lot at the time.

Counterterraism December 2024 - Mix 3 (Robbie)

As the planets align in moonless winter skies our resolve is once again being tested to breaking point. Perhaps a lack of sunlight, serotonin or vitamins is to blame. Or maybe the chaos of world affairs is chipping away at our dreams like a chisel to a block of marble.  Keeping focused on the path through the darkness can seem challenging in these murky times. But there’s a pull from deep within, a voice that guides you.  One step at time the path beneath you becomes clearer as the distance to brighter days lessens. Its with your head down and with a gritty determination you realise there’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.

Counterterraism January 2025

As the traveller adjusted his mirrored sunglasses, the flickering flames of the burning building danced in the reflections, warping the chaos into a surreal kaleidoscope. He stood at the gas station, the pump clicking rhythmically, and his mind raced beyond the fire’s destruction to the stories hidden in the smoke—of lives interrupted, dreams turned to ash. In that moment, while fuel filled the tank of his motorbike, he pondered the fragility of existence, realizing how quickly everything could change; a thrill-seeker today, a witness to tragedy tomorrow. The flames crackled like a warning, urging him to cherish the fleeting moments on the road ahead, a reminder that adventure was often just a heartbeat away from calamity.

As the highway stretches endlessly toward the horizon, the open road becomes a symbol of boundless freedom and uncharted adventure, inviting travellers to leave behind the worries of everyday life and embrace the thrill of the journey. Born in Brazil, Ludmila began her DJ career in 2009, quickly establishing herself within Brazil’s underground electronic scene. 
Now, based in Berlin since 2019, Ludmila continues to make a impact on the electronic scene also as a music producer with her sound in a focused fusion of Electro, Dark Disco, EBM, Techno, Synth Wave, and Indie Dance, combining the essence of classic 80s and early 90s style with dark electronic references. 

Known for her captivating energy, Ludmila has become a significant presence on the global stage, bringing her distinctive sound to renowned festivals, events, and clubs around the world

In addition to her extensive performance history, she launched the TREVOSA Channel in 2020, a platform designed to foster community within the underground electronic scene, offering artists and enthusiasts a space to share their sounds and showcase original productions.
 In 2022, TREVOSA evolved into a Berlin-based party, strengthening connections with artists from around the world. 
Now, co-founding SAVAGE Berlin-based party. Also key element as a lead singer/vocalist 
and co-producer of the berliner electronic music duo called X-TOTAL.

The Space Station veered off course, heading away from the gravitational pull of the Earth into outer space. There was a split second where the crew might have died, but as long a the ship's computer was able to sense that the ship was heading away from the proper flightpath, it was able to issue a course correction.
Madrid Rotten City imprint, run by Alvaro Cabana present Rotten City Vol.3 Remixes , and we premiering Curses's version of Skelesys's "Do You Know?". The result is a slow mo epic stomper which slowly and deliberately stomps on convention to leave a space on the dancefloor for you to fill.
If you feel yourself veering off in the wrong direction then ask the DJ to issue a course correction, to veer you back onto the right track. The password will be the phrase "Do You Know?".

Ortac Genc is a Turkish Dj/Producer with very diverse and global inspirations. Currently, he is focusing on his new Indie Dance project Fat&Bald. His influences are mainly Dark Disco, Synth Wave, New Wave,  Italo Disco and Ebm. And how to leave Breakbeat and Leftfield aside?

He appeared on magnificent Berlin based label Ombra International March, 2020 and feeling the joy of releasing his first EP, Parallel Dimensions, with visionary UK based Nein Records. His first EP quickly reached Top 5 status in the Beatport Top 10 Releases charts. 

Music came to Ortac early in life where he started playing bass guitar and up-right bass. His love for the stage comes from connecting with live audiences as he played with various Rock bands for over a decade. He decided to combine his roots in Rock and Classical music with electronic music after his sound design training in New York City. This is why Fat&Bald can be easily distinguished by organic elements brought into the songs by silky guitars, hardware synthesizers and extraordinary fx's.

Ortac describes his creative process as closing his eyes to imagine himself on stage with a live band playing towards a crowd of electronic music lovers. Bringing two great worlds together. 

He recently collaborated with talented producers @gunceaci and @javiermartinezmx and worked on remixes for incredible producers like @backfromthewave, @gunceaci, @javier_busto, @from_beyond, and @funboys. He is looking forward to meet his fans and perform live in another club or festival soon.

The Counterterraism Mix series was founded to help share and promote artists within the Slow Techno, Indie Dance and Dark Disco genres. Now with a growing listenership it has cast the net wider, encompassing a plethora of styles including EBM, Italo Disco, Nu Disco and guitar heavy rifting tracks with Acid House overtones.
