We love all sound aggressive or pleasant and try to incorporate these extremes into our sonic experiments. We use a variety of acoustic and electronic instruments along with various microphones and techniques to explore our creativity and produce the waves you hear. Aside from some vocal samples all sound, instrument tracks and samples are written, recorded and edited at Anthophobic Records by myself and good friends.  Trouble in the Wind has been labeled as folk, Americana, alternative, country, surf rock and more but the Carlsbad quartet likes to call themselves rock and roll. With hints of Roy Orbison, Calexico and Talking Heads, the band's stripped-down organic sound is a multi-instrumental collective featuring Robby Gira's staggering powerful vocals at the center of their songs. 

The group's instrumentation of accordion, upright bass, banjo, and guitars color the emotional songs which blend and range from ballads to soulful surf folk rockers.
