The two brothers who form Okvsho grew up in the city of Zurich with influences ranging from oldschool beatmaking and house/electronic music to the modern jazz scene, funk and neosoul with hints of Brazilian and Balkan influences. After releasing their tropical jazzy house EP Orange Wine on Hip Dozer, they are back for this compilation. A mix of tropical drums, jazzy live instruments and soft piano, 'Scho Guet' is a chill track true to their own style.

Those following beat culture in the last years might have heard about Swiss producer @melodiesinfonie already. From his tracks on the early Soulection compilations, releases on Melting Pot Music and Sichtexot to countless live sets in Europe and even South Africa. We are very happy to now announce his first release on Jakarta Records. In comparison to previous output the most apparent difference is the extend to which Melodiesinfone incorporated live elements to his productions, achieving a more eclectic and organic sound. Get a first taste with the upcoming single „Longo Do Rio“ before the full length album „A Journey To You“ will drop 26th of April.

Taken from 'The Love' EP by Colm K - due out on 12" and digital June 3rd on Bastard Jazz Recordings. 

The Cork, Ireland based DJ and producer Colm K is a 2004 graduate of the Red Bull Music Academy, and has been making waves for a few years now with releases including his Bastard Jazz debut 12" 'Basics', heralded 7” and 10” records on sublabel BSTRD Boots (the latter of which is sold-out and regularly changes hands for upwards of $50 on eBay), and his recent shared-billing with Mr. Scruff on a Hypnotic Brass Ensemble remix 12” (on Choice Cuts).

On 'The Love' EP, Colm’s musical vision has truly matured with a fully realized 12” that draws on such disparate influences as Herbie Hancock, 80’s boogie, J-Dilla, vintage House music, Floating Points and Q-Tip productions.  Art for the EP comes from graphic artist Donal Thorton, notable for Onra’s 'Long Distance' cover, and many of the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble covers.

Feelgood Experiment features the best of Bristol's blossoming jazz scene creating a truly progressive sound with compelling rhythm and mellifluous harmony doused with liberating improvisation and rich lyrical content.

With support from BBC 6Music & Clash Magazine the band released their debut EP in November 2017. Winners of 2016’s Love Supreme Discovery Competition, they have already shared stages with Nubya Garcia, Ezra Collective, Alfa Mist among others. 

With a follow up release planned in the next year the band are set to further solidify their standing in the UK jazz scene.
