On Saturday the 26th of November, we celebrate our 13th birthday at the Ministry of Sound. Throughout our 13 years, we’ve been blessed with some incredible nights and events at the Ministry of Sound, Go Ibiza, the main stage at 51st State Festival and hosted events around the world with the best of the best DJ/artist gracing our GO stage. 
Louie Vega has been part of the Groove Odyssey family from day one, and we’re super excited to have the maestro join us once again for our 13th birthday. And there’s no stopping us as we just had to have the legendary king of Disco & Boogie Leroy Burgess live on our birthday stage. Other guests include residents Bobby & Steve, Atjazz, Neil Pierce, Groove Assassin, Sol Brown, Peri X live, Billy Cocks, DJ Bigger, Sammy Confunction and House Fm hosting the Loft featuring DJ Yooks, Omotosho and full crew, Plus many more artist over four rooms of music!

For more than 30 years, Hans Nieswandt is a well know and highly respected personality in the music scene of Germany and beyond, a legendary character in the world of DJ culture, music production and pop culture writing.
In the late 80ies, he was one of the pioneers for house music in Germany, playing it early on as a DJ and writing about it in the influential magazine Spex, where he was chief editor in the early 90ies.
Solo and with his music group Whirlpool Productions, he recorded countless albums and even scored a worldwide hit with the song „From Disco To
Disco“ (number 1 in Italy, top ten in many other countries). Today, this song is considered a classic.
As a DJ, the width of his depth is breathtaking. His club sets are usually build around his deep mix of disco, house and techno, but he also sometimes plays hippie music, hiphop, folk, jazz, soul, reggae, post punk, yacht rock, baroque pop and so on.
Besides DJing and music production, Hans Nieswandt is also a prolific writer, who published hundreds of essays and articles as well as (so far) three successful books on DJ culture and electronic music from Germany. In 2017, he won the International Music Journalism Award for his essay about the history of disco music.
From 2014 to 2019 he was director of the Institute for Pop-Musik of the Folkwang University of the Arts, which offers a master degree for upcoming pop music artists.
On christmas day 2019 however, he left the academical world and moved from his hometown Cologne to the South Korean capital Seoul, where he is now working on new music, writing a new book, deejaying and exploring the country.

In March 2023, he released his new album „Flower Hans“, a collection of songs from the hippie era in a disco style.

Young Island is a DJ and producer who plays Nudisco, House, and Techno based on Disco. He likes to play band-like tracks due to his activities as a rock band member before a DJ.
He prefers a variety of plays without restrictions without losing his own color. He released two compilation albums under the name 'Seodaemun New Wave'.

As a member of the DJ crew ‘8alace’, he joined the party at Paper, Pistil, Cort, and Bolero in Seoul, and as a member of the ‘Sunday Disco City’ party, he is also active in Itaewon Casa Corona.
As a resident DJ at Club AB, he supported performances by many foreign artists in Seoul. (Okadada, Licaxxx, Zimmer, Freedom B)
Currently, ‘Sound Kitchen Record’ is operated, and spaces in Seoul and Tokyo are exchanged.
He is making ‘Sekyo’ as a member of the sound art project.

영아일랜드는 DJ겸 프로듀서로 Disco를 베이스로 Nudisco, House, Techno를 플레이한다. DJ 이전 록밴드 멤버로 활동의 영향으로 밴드적인 사운드의 트랙들을 플레이하길 좋아하고, 
본인의 색깔을 잃지않으면서 제한없이 다양한 플레이를 선호한다.  ’서대문 뉴웨이브‘ 라는 이름으로 2개의 컴필레이션 앨범을 발매하였다. 

DJ 크루 ‘8alace’ 멤버로 서울의 페이퍼, 피스틸, 코르트, 볼레로등에서 파티를 함께하였고 ‘썬데이 디스코 씨티‘ 파티의 일원으로 이태원 카사코로나에서도 활발히 활동중이며 
클럽AB의 레지던트DJ로 다수의 해외아티스트의 서울공연을 서포트하였다. (Okadada, Licaxxx, Zimmer, Freedom B)
현재 ‘사운드키친 레코드’ 를 운영하며, 서울과 도쿄의 공간이 교류하는

Time for no. 18 in our Just For The Night series, selectors take you on their own journey through groove. Anything goes.

This week we're heading to Salvador with musician, DJ & producer Alexandre Processo aka Processman. His universal sound, traversing grooves from disco, funk, house and Brazilian music, caught our ears on the recent Adupé EP on @fileunderdisco, two original tracks with Cady on vocals and remixes by @Jkriv, @Joutro-Mundo and @Dicky-Trisco. Going back a bit further, we loved his track Do Beijo, a collab with @Yuksek, later featured on the French producer's album Nosso Ritmo. He's also got a recent release Baba Oni on label @Mareh Music & runs Bahia Boogie. Time to free the groove 🇧🇷
