Originally a poem, Forfeit examines what it means to move on from that which you are passionate about, and the pain and grief of losing it even if you always knew you would. It is about taking a chance against your better judgement, hoping against hope, and the crushing disappointment we can all identify with, when we're left without the fulfilling happy ending we were promised. Forfeit was arranged by Feibhár and the vocals were recorded in Station Studios in Balbriggan, Dublin.

Feibhár (fiver, like the money) is a songwriter from Kilkenny. She has been writing and performing music since 2011; busking, open mics, weddings, bars, music venues, intimate settings, festivals and on the radio. Her atmospheric and haunting sound has evolved over the years.

Her songs are lyrically focused, with dark and ambient vocal harmonies floating above carefully carved electronic backdrops. These ethereal elements personify the emotions she explores in her storytelling.

In 2018 Feibhár released a spoken word piece around the subject of the #Repeal campaign called Porcelain Throne. She released her debut single Forfeit in early 2019 and has been quietly writing away since.

Since graduating from BIMM Dublin in 2019 with a 2.1 in a BA in Commercial Modern Music, specialising in Songwriting, Feibhár has been volunteering and working to bring her passion for music to young people of all ages.

She spent a few years volunteering with Ossory Youth in Kilkenny City, delivering in-person and online workshops alongside R.S.A.G. aka Jeremy Hickey. The majority of these were based around songwriting and production and finished pieces with intention of release (Getting Colder - Radio Friendly Martians), but most recently they helped a group of young people to develop a podcast from ideas to finished products too.

Since late 2021 Feibhár has been working for Ossory Youth as the Arts Programme Facilitator, running three groups per week with ages ranging from 12-17, facilitating creative exploration through different artistic mediums. At the beginning of 2022 year, she began working with Ossory Youth’s Compass Youth Diversion Project as a Youth Justice Worker.

Towards the end of 2022, Feibhár was still running the weekly art groups, started a music appreciation group with colleague Mick Greene, mentored artist in residence, Aoife Doherty, in collaboration with Kilkenny Arts Office and continued to meet young people 1:1 in her Youth Justice role.

Now, heading into 2023, Feibhár is still happily working as part of the Ossory Youth family, still facilitating art workshops, working with young people on a 1:1 basis and slowly but surely getting her full driver’s licence.

Feibhár also worked with Music Generation Kilkenny for 18 months delivering in-person and online songwriting and music production programmes in secondary schools across the county and with Foróige - The Drum Youth Centre in Kilkenny city. She also delivered ukulele tuition programmes in primary schools across the county, bringing accessible music tuition to those who may not be able to access it otherwise.
