Allure Live From Music Room

When we talk about identity and elaborated universes with coherence, two names cames naturally. 
The first one, Dream Software, is a brilliant graphic designer with an over marked identity, and his universe borrows his mixes of a very particular flavor as soon as it is a question of appreciating a work within a coherent whole. sånti co-head of Karagi crew and its mix serie drawings lulled with a delicious drollery. This fits perfectly with its weird leftfield dub & rock experimentations but also with every attempt to explore trancey and mental sonorities. 
For the 30th mixes they meet around a soaring and mindwave music.

"I wanted to craft something polyrhythmic and groovey while focusing on the idea of stretching time and slowing things down. I’ve been loving the resurgence of funky hard groove techno and wanted to make a mix with this sound in mind while slowing down a lot of the tracks (by 10/15 bpm at least). In general, I’ve been enjoying a s lower and more considered pace in my life and this mix has a bit of that. Stretched out rhythms with the long mix."

Spacey broken beat sounds straight from the liminal train station this week, courtesy of local Naarm DJ, promotor and music journalist Jack Long, aka DJ Henning! Jack is an essential member of the local electronic music community, co-running the @aywa_syndicate parties and mix series that focus on highlighting middle-eastern sounds and artists. He's also the music editor for local mag @vervezine as well as a booking agent! His contribution to this mix series encompasses many things we love - diverse sounds from dubbed out breakbeat and squelchy electro to trippy trancey tech, all mixed to perfection and delivered in a playful, fun way. Ploy makes mad music – a lot of his music sounds mad. It shouldn’t necessarily make sense but it does.

The term discombobulated comes to mind at times but in the very best way. No, seriously we mean that as a compliment.

For many years Ploy has been one of the most interesting producers in underground Electronic music having released records with the likes of Hessle Audio, Hemlock, Timedance and L.I.E.S.

No two have sounded the same and each of them have drawn upon a musical influence or five as Ploy attempts to piece together his own flavour of dance. As an artist he has continued to evolve – creating his own world in which to release the music that feels right to him.

Ploy’s own record label, Deaf Test, has been integral in the evolution of his sound. Acting as a platform in which to experiment and explore new sounds and concepts.

One challenge of his career thus far has been working out a way to connect the dots between his own musical tastes, productions and outlook towards club culture. However, as of late his focus has been rooted in the wonkier undercurrents of UK Bass music and its intersection with Tech House. A new record on Timedance forthcoming cements this idea.

We invited Ploy to record a mix and the result… Well, you are in for a treat as we gain an insight into some of the music which makes Ploy tick on the dancefloor.
