Musicians, producers and childhood friends Charlie Jordan and James Fitz-Gibbon have honed their talents within the studio over the past two years, shaping their deep and melodic sound palette as electronic duo TMPLE. Guy Gerber's Rumors label welcomes Nick Morgan for a pair of sublime new sounds. 

Nick Morgan is a Canadian born electronic music producer and DJ known for pushing the boundaries of the electronic genre.  When he is not touring the globe, Nick has kept a presence in Mykonos for the past 5 years with his Sunday night residency at the world renowned “Moni”.  As a producer, Nick has created a plethora of remix’s and edits that have received critical acclaim from some of the biggest names in the underground scene.  His latest release “Shook Pt. 3” quickly became a crowd favorite in the summer 2023 season, earning him the attention and admiration of music lovers and industry professionals alike. With a string of recent releases on the horizon, Nick is beginning to cement his unique sound in the electronic dance world.  

Bass Bousa is a mid tempo deep house excursion lit up with fantastically expressive synths and melodies that ring out with real soul. They bring worldly charm to the persuasive grooves and really cast a spell. Says Nick of the track, “I have always been fascinated with the rhythms and melodies of Arabic music. I wanted to blend the rich musical heritage of the Middle East with my electronic sound.”

Want You started as a voice note sketch and is a more stripped back and minimal rhythm to start with. Ghostly vocal sounds and slick percussive patterns pepper the groove which never lets up and eventually gets coloured with some superb Middle Eastern melodic colour.

Since its debut in 2017, Damian Lazarus’ annual ‘SPIRITS’ series on Crosstown Rebels has been a beacon for breakthrough artists, setting the label’s agenda for the year ahead. The sixth instalment in February is another meticulously curated lineup with ‘SPIRITS VI’ featuring a blend of new and recognisable talents, including Lauren Lane, Cristina Lazic, Iñigo Vontier, AJ Christou and many more.

London-based talent Cameron Jack kicks off what looks set to be a breakout year with ‘The Vision’, a bubbly and tropical cut with cosmic synths and loose, jumbled rhythms. Chris Bowl then brings his emotional style to the deep, rolling beats and fresh melodies of ‘Silent Plain’, while NY-born, LA-based house tastemaker Lauren Lane layers in smoky pads and tender whispers to her sublime deep house cut, ‘Fair Game.’ Next, German talent and Degree Records head Marc Lenz brings darker vibes to his track ‘People Are People’, while Rebellion artist Cristina Lazic and previous Lazarus collaborator Leia Contois combine for the alluring vocal soul and gritty minimal drums of ‘So Deep’.

Mexican Iñigo Vontier is a pioneer in his homeland after crafting a global reputation, and his twisted synths, shiny textures and steely drums on ‘That Trippy Sound’ prove why as they work you into a trance. Next is influential Manchester-based DJ/producer AJ Christou, who has released on the likes of Hot Creations and Cuttin’ Headz. His track ‘Back & Forth’ brings an infectious groove with plenty of flair and catchy drum funk, before TMPLE shuts things down with the deft, airy grooves and floating bass of ‘The Girl In The Room’, complete with its tender male vocals.

At the forefront of electronic innovation, Crosstown Rebels stands as a pivotal platform and record label, reflecting the genre’s diversity and housing an impressive roster that includes renowned artists and household names like Art Department, Maceo Plex, and Jamie Jones. Getting lost in the music-making process was our way to escape the feelings of anxiety and uncertainty which presented themselves with the emergence of Covid. We had no plan beyond escapism, but a cleared schedule gave us lots of time to explore new ideas. Felipe, born in Solothurn, discovered his passion for music early on. At 16, he refined his skills in electronic music production at a dedicated music school, while drawing inspiration from his father's home studio, where he explored classic synthesizers like the DX7 and Juno 106—still integral to his sound today.

He began DJing at 14 and released his debut single "Shingalin" at 20 on Global Underground, gaining recognition for his rhythmic, bass-driven tracks infused with jazz and Latin percussion.

Career highlights include his "Cosmic Dance" remix for Kellerkind (Stil vor Talent) and the "Melodies for Millions" remix with Anthik (Superfancy Records). Felipe collaborates with Go Deeva and Hurry Up Slowly, featuring projects with Calussa and his own "Illusion EP."

He also curates the "Illusion" event series, known for its unique atmosphere. Currently, Philipp is crafting new music, always exploring fresh sounds and ideas.
