After his debut on Crisis Of Man earlier this year, on the label VA – Frazi.er is back with his ‘Youth Culture’ EP, a massive 4-track offering with a gargantuan remix from Possession resident Hadone.

Opening with the title track ‘Youth Culture’ its breakneck drums pound as percussive sonics add a melodic, almost psytrance edge. Hadone’s remix takes a very different path, stripping the original back and adding a sidechained drone to the low end and working the vocal. Detroit-y pads midway add a sense of hopefulness.

‘Rave Scene Exploitation’s Industrial drums and scattergun hats create tension onto which Frazi.er expertly adds a huge melodic top line that comes from nowhere. ‘Transparency’ (NRG Tool Mix) does exactly what it says on the can. Acting very much as a bridging tool, it quickly gets up the speed without ever overcooking. Finally, ‘Take Me Away’ explodes from the speakers from the first enormous kick drum. Eerie saw-toothed synths take the lead as the track builds up before dropping back to thunderous drums before the main break. It’s a wild ride!

Part 1 of the Unissued Series is the start of a series of releases that focuses on releasing older projects as well as new projects that I am working on in the studio. The idea behind this self-release series is to give my music a platform to speak for itself, both in terms of my creative output and artistic vision.

One of the main motivations behind this concept was to take back more control of how I truly want to represent myself as an artist. In art, oneself, as the artist, is and should be one's biggest critic as well as one's biggest admirer or fan. In the end, creating art, for me at least, is a form of pure self-expression. By taking more control over my creative output, I seek to further engage in the relationship I have with myself and create the space necessary for further musical exploration.

Unissued Series Part 1, marks the first of many self releases coming this year. Ranging from straight forward techno cuts to experimental ambient pieces.
