For the seventh Krankbrother release, Jody Barr returns to the label and presents two new cuts of straight up, analogue techno, whilst A Sagittariun hops on board with a cosmically charged remix.

“Sheila’s Demands” is a brooding and weighty slab of mechanical house, its reserved tempo lets the growling synth FX wind around granite hard beats and spacey atmospherics, dotted with drama inducing breakdowns for maximum effect.

Barr’s second cut, “Coloured Silk”, treads a similar path; tenacious beats and heavy bass stabs build the backbone whilst brass synths randomly play in discordant patterns, the solid kick drum keeping it all held together.  

A Sagittariun, delivers a remix of ‘Coloured Silk’ that could well be one of his most dancefloor friendly cuts to date.  Ramping up the tempo and snatching at the atmospheric bed of Barr’s original mix, A Sagittariun fires out a driving remix resplendent with classic techno tropes of arpeggiated acid basslines, melodic chords and wormhole synth work, classy work from ‘The Archer’.

London based analogue enthusiasts Komati have announced that they're set to drop their 'Ghost Dancer' EP via Bad Life on January 29th.

A regular on UK label, the duo are known known for their modular based, techno enthused take on house, fractured acid and the grey area sound that lies in between. Their latest 2-track effort continues this work; offering up a pair of peak time floor fillers aimed squarely at the dance floor. Driven by an inescapable if subtle intensity, Komati's beats hint at a passion for more abstract strains of techno through their deft drum-programming without straying into 'experimental' territory.

With their inbound EP having already picked up heavy support from the likes of Shadow Child, Dusky, wAFF, Ame and Joris Voorn amongst a host of others, we feel more justified than ever in tipping Komati for a big 2016.

Put the names Carl Cox and Josh Butler together, and it's guaranteed to catch the attention of most. Leeds native Josh Butler has grabbed hold of Carl’s 1991 smash ‘I Want You’ for a refreshed remix, which is set to release August 18 on CR2. It'll arrive as part of their ‘Past, Present, Future’ series which sees contemporary artists remixing absolute classics. The Butler reinvention of Carl Cox's tune is an addictive remix that pays a respectable honor to the 90s sound of the original while still grooving with a modern twist. There is no doubt, artists generate – especially in our scene - hypes occur again and again. Be it a good track or an unforgettable DJ-Set. However, these come and go as quickly as they have emerged. And there is also something happening in this scene, which is quite apparent: It happens relatively fast. In Germany, the motherland of the electronic music, an artist has seldom managed to infringe at the same time upon such widely spread generations and masses. It is not by coincidence, that ideas like „German Techno Master“ (DJ Mag) or countless first grade placings originate in the process of the scene votings. Meanwhile one can also hardly keep up counting his fanclubs, who welcome him with frenetic exultation spreading across the entire republic and far beyond.
