Born in Zurich and grown up in Italy, he moved his first steps to the techno world in the late 90’s, taking inspiration from his idols Jeff Mills
and Dave Clarke.

His first appearances behind the console began from a young age. Do to his talent, he become very soon resident in some historic places in his province (Vicenza). His artistic career achieved his first major achievements in 2001 when he debuted with his first “Zool EP” vinyl on Underground Media Records by Mauro Picotto and landed at the legendary Italian techno club Matrix in Brescia, where he has been regular resident for five years.

Since 2005, Stephan has continued his musical growth by playing jn some of the best Italian techno clubs & festivals such as Nature Beat Festival, Shame Clubbing, Ex Dogana, The Room, Amnesia, Mantra, Electrique, Il Muretto, Alterego, Bolgia, Sonica Dance Festival, Mood Boom Festival, and recently abroad, Poland, Netherlands, Croatia, Spain, Germany, Slovenia, Austria, Slovakia, Switzerland and Malta, in clubs like Sfinks700, MTW, Subclub, Depo Klub, Bollwerk, Sugar Factory, Space Monki, Trax Club.

Since 2013, he is resident in HYPER’s events in Italy (near Venice), which became the stage for international techno legends such as Dave Clarke, Speedy J, Ben Sims, Oscar Mulero, Surgeon, Slam, and many, many more:

The tracks of his latest EP “Runaway Giant” EP on Decoy, “Horsehead” on Black & White, and “Diving Echoes” on Amazing Records, were played and appreciated by Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Rebekah, Drumcomplex, Submerge and many more. His latest EPs has been released on SK Black (includes the hypnotic remixes of Xhei and ViL) on Naked Lunch, TMM by Vegim, District4 (with two remixes for Dj Emerson) and SMR (with remix for Israel Toledo & Lathan).

Italian’s techno icon, Stephan Krus’s sound includes not only years of experience as a DJ, but also 20 years as a techno lover and fan. His djset is a mix of old-school rhythmic, distorted and industrial rhythms, hypnotic synths and power-full kicks: a journey towards unexplored galaxies with an ever-turned look towards the farthest past.

There is no doubt, artists generate – especially in our scene - hypes occur again and again. Be it a good track or an unforgettable DJ-Set. However, these come and go as quickly as they have emerged. And there is also something happening in this scene, which is quite apparent: It happens relatively fast. In Germany, the motherland of the electronic music, an artist has seldom managed to infringe at the same time upon such widely spread generations and masses. It is not by coincidence, that ideas like „German Techno Master“ (DJ Mag) or countless first grade placings originate in the process of the scene votings. Meanwhile one can also hardly keep up counting his fanclubs, who welcome him with frenetic exultation spreading across the entire republic and far beyond.
