Wide Open

Back at our mammoth Stay True Scotland broadcast earlier this month, one track came real close to bringing The Caves' roof down during Nina Kraviz's powerhouse headline set. "I Wanna Go Bang" very nearly executed its titular statement – well, if the song was more about wrecking balls and less about...oh, never mind.

The vocals that stalk the track, so wholly devoid of humanity, rub up against razor-sharp claps and serious bounce in the subs. It's weighty warehouse techno of the highest order, set to devastate dark basements and big tents alike throughout the year. Simply put: Icelandic producer Bjarki has delivered a bomb.

Es folgten weitere vielbeachtete EPs auf Labels wie Suara, Click, Traum oder Parquet. Mit ihrem soliden, deepen Techno Sound, der oft von treibenden Percussions und fetten Basslines untermalt wird, schafften sie es mir ihrer jüngsten Veröffentlichung „Black Beauty“ auf Platz 1 der Beatport Technocharts. Aktuell steht zudem ihr erstes Album in der Pipeline, welches von uns schon sehnsüchtig erwartet wird. Wir sind schon sehr gespannt!

Mit ihrem hervorragenden und freshem Sound brachten sie neuen Wind in die Szene und zählen unweigerlich zu den Acts der Stunde. So schafften sie es unter anderem beim Faze Mag Poll unter die besten Produzenten 2017 und auf Koletzkis Label Stil vor Talent auf dem bereits ihre Erfolgsnummern wie „Charlotte“, „Aphrodite“ oder ihr Remix für Several Definitions erschien. 

Dass sie nicht nur im Studio, sondern auch an den Decks ordentlich was drauf haben, bewiesen Township Rebellion unter anderem bei der 5 Jahre Jeden Tag ein Set - Party im vergangenen Jahr. In Kürze besuchen uns die Jungs erneut und zwar am 2. März bei unserem Event im Harry Klein in München. Spekulant (@user-890373367-497739753) have a new EP titled 'Luxus Iskalion' coming via @clommunity, the fledgling in-house imprint of Kyiv's world famous Closer club, which has been set up as a creative outlet for its talented residents.

Spekulant is  a collaboration between Lobanov K. (@konstantin-14) and Alex Savage (@user-955908011). The EP's opening track 'Mr. Whatsyourname' is deep and leftfield, moving forward on a rhythmic pulse that's accentuated by organic percussion, alien vocoder and an array of crunching and sparkling sounds.

And there is also something happening in this scene, which is quite apparent: It happens relatively fast. In Germany, the motherland of the electronic music, an artist has seldom managed to infringe at the same time upon such widely spread generations and masses. It is not by coincidence, that ideas like „German Techno Master“ (DJ Mag) or countless first grade placings originate in the process of the scene votings.
