"It's a mash up of styles, lots of stuff I like at the moment but focusing a little more on the club vibes," Plastician says of the mix. "It still builds up slowly, somewhat of a journey as I know this is likely to be listened in many settings. When I record a mix for online, I like to imagine how it might aid somebody doing their day to day, or perhaps getting ready to go out, or the journey to work. If you listen to it in any of these settings I think it'll make sense. Also, there's some Juicy J vocals in there, purely because I can't get away with playing stuff like that on the radio. It's gloriously offensive!"

Belgium’s music scene has few cornerstones. R&S set a first in the 80s, Soulwax came in the 90s and Eskimo emerged in the early 00s, its evolution since more colourful than all of them combined. Taking music into emotion, introducing new names and spotlighting the cream of the current crop, ‘The Orange Collection’ is bright, genial and buoyant. 

‘The Orange Collection’ is the latest installment in a new compilation series on Eskimo based around colours. Following the lauded first three chapters in this enterprising series -Pink, Blue and Green- Eskimo once again selected 12 songs with exquisite care. An effortless journey encompassing a range of sounds through indie dance, nu disco and electronica, it’s reassuring to find that Eskimo still stands for timeless quality and originality.

'Emergence' is an epic, operatic, ambitious amalgamation between audio-visual show, scientific research project, art installation and IDM record, the debut release on Max Cooper’s Mesh label and his second full-length release.

The record was conceived as a soundtrack to a new series of 11 pieces of video art, each exploring a different facet of the concept of ‘emergence’. The full A/V live show will premiere at Mutek, Japan on November 2nd 2016. Together the work is a marriage between the cosmic awe of a Carl Sagan film and the musical wonderment of Sigur Ros, made for meditating on the mystery of our emotional connection to fundamental natural form.

Ruud Kalis a.k.a. @tantrut lives on a teensy-weensy island in Sweden called Brännö. It's a  peaceful scenery, there are no cars but lots of sheep and wooden fences along the landscape. By the looks of it there are also no clubs out there, so the islanders have been having beach-parties for many years. He've followed many magical full-moon parties and in one of these Tantrut got inspired by a DJ called The Shaman of Brännö, that's the beginning of his musical-inner-journey.

Ruud has a background in flamenco and latin guitar and many of his previous mixes were strongly influenced by that. He plays downtempo sets with lots of warmth and passion. This 50th edition was originally inspired by a track called Boat to Nowhere which started a journey from India through the Middle-East and led into Africa. High energy African music became a big theme but the listener will also explore some deeper, darker and calmer waters at the end of the mix. The recording was mixed at home while his dog Ginger was snoring on the couch. Just get ready for a delightfull podcast, have a chance to Tantrut.
