Oh! Yeah! We're having another guest for our podcast series and it's no less a figure than DJ, Producer and - guess what - Oh!Yeah! Label Co-Owner Sven Tasnadi! Sven is deejaying since 1995, making his way from Leipzig to renowned clubs like Cocoon/Frankfurt and Plastic People/London. Besides Oh!Yeah!, which he's running alongside with Daniel Stefanik and Juno6, he released tracks on Moon Harbour/Cargo Edition, Cocoon Recordings, Smallville Records, Poker Flat, Liebe*Detail, Statik, Katermukke and so forth. Moreover, a few days ago his new EP "Small Things" came out on Kann, another young but nevertheless fabulous Leipzig based label (btw. including a stunning remix by Map.Ache). "Small Things" shows his little-known deeper side and therefore proofs his reputation as being somewhat unpredictable. Just another reason to be curios about this exclusive set! Thank you, Sven!

It has taken seventeen very carefully curated years, but Moon Harbour now hits release number 100 in some style. Matthias Tanzmann’s label has actually put out around 150 EPs, albums and compilations, but the 100th vinyl release is a special family affair with key artists Dan Drastic & Sven Tasnadi, Luna City Express, Daniel Stefanik and the boss himself all featuring. This fine EP, then, confirms the now very grown up label is still young and exciting at heart. 

There have been many highlights over the years, and the underlying philosophy of the label has always been to progress slowly but surely. To that end it has help make the careers of many artists, unearthed exciting new talents and showcased some fine underground heroes at the same time. 

First up is the man who started it all, Matthias Tanzmann. His ‘Mahoney Baloney’ is a seductive seven minutes of teasing tech house. Bubbly synth sounds percolate up through the dry, hollowed out drums, odd spoken word vocals add freakiness and the all-important bass is warm and rubbery. Party starting but in subtle ways, it is a typical bomb from this long time master. 

Label manager Dan Drastic and regular musical sparring partner Sven Tasnadi then come together for ‘Tastic’, a deep but cavernous track that sucks you right in. It builds and builds to become a slick dance floor pumper with trippy vocal yelps and warm, colourful chords that sooth the soul. Playful and smartly incendiary, it is a surefire dance floor weapon. 

Label mainstays Luna City Express then offer a more peak time cut with vamping synths, frazzled pads and discordant stabs that bring real wonky dynamism to the rooted kick drums. It’s one to get the crowd up on their toes and sweating as it twists and turns for the absorbing duration. 

Last of all, master of intricacy Daniel Stefanik keeps things tight with his nicely coiled drums bringing a real sense of house funk to the EP. Restless and bouncy, killer drum loops and skewed chords all ensure you cannot fail to get swept up and carried away. 

With these four varied yet vital cuts, Moon Harbour perfectly encapsulates what has made the label so essential over the last 100 releases.

A mix for the XXII podcast series got deleted today cause they discontinued their work. I had put a lot of energy and love in creating this mix. So I uploaded it on my own Soundcloud and share it with you. No new material.. but something that shouldn't just be destroyed.

The mix was created in the cold winter months but has a summer vibe in the start and flows into mystical sounds. It ends with the famous Bock Saga interpreted by bicycle buddy and fellow islander @janne-berglund. So get yourself a cold drink, lean back, listen and enjoy!

Felix Eul is a DJ / producer from Nuremberg and a true music enthusiast. He's been making music since he was a child, learnt to play and improvise on various instruments and showed great talent from the very beginning. In his early 20s, he finally discovered his passion for electronic music and synthesizers and began to realize his musical vision.

With over a decade of stage experience, as a resident of various renowned clubs and events, as well as with numerous releases, he established himself as an important part of the techno scene in his home region. His innovative approach to electronic music has also made him play sets all over the world. The sound in his sets is consistently energetic and danceable, as are his productions, which always open up new perspectives while remaining true to his unmistakable style. His music has been released on top labels such as 3000Grad, Heinz Music, Hive Audio and SNOE. Thanks to his musical versatility, he tells a story in each of his sets, skillfully spanning the spectrum from tech house to melodic techno and techno without losing the common thread. He delights his audience with his sound at venues such as Ritter Butzke, Südpol Hamburg, 3000Grad Festival, Bahnwärter Thiel and Harry Klein, to name but a few. In his home town, he is resident DJ at the legendary club "Die Rakete".

In addition to his passion for music, Felix is also a trained piano maker and responsible for the  right tunig of the piano in concert halls. At the weekend, however, his heart remains behind the decks, where he captivates his audience time and again with his playful and driving sets.
