A club friendly version of one of my favorite tracks of one of my favorite musicians! Back in the days my father used to play this song a lot while driving the car and I have liked it since the first time I heard it. This song was recorded in 1984, one year before he released his biggest hit 'mario'. As founder of the band TPOK Jazz, which dominated Congolese music from 1956 until 1989, he is counted as one of the originators of the modern Congolese sound.

An energetic and euphoric remix of "I'm Gonna Stop Loving You" By 'Yvonne Chaka Chaka', also known as the 'Princess of Africa'. The original track was released in 1987 and is part of her second album 'Sangoma'.

We finished the remix a while ago and have been playing it often in our sets since then. The reaction of the crowd has been absolutely amazing, we hope you'll enjoy it aswel!

Angie Gumbi - Fela Ke Yaya (Felix Tapes & Primo Disco Remix)

Mory Kanté is an African singer from Guinee. His father ‘El Hadj Djelifode’ was tribal chief of the ‘Griots’, he had 38 children and died at an age of 109. In 1987 Mory Kanté scored a world hit with his song ‘yéké yéké’, which was later remixed and played a lot by Richie Hawtin. ‘Le Griot’ is an extremely danceable African disco gem which was released in 2001 within his album ‘Tamala’. Play it loud and enjoy!

A remix I made of this dope track created by the Jamaican Handdrummer Bongo Herman and Guitarist Bingy Bunny. I added the beautiful voice of Fela Kuti to the original, made the bass even more fat and speeded it up a bit. Hope you enjoy :)

In 1977 'Malinga Five' released a rare afro funk album on Barclay in France. 'Marie Thérèse' is one of the songs on this album, it's an uptempo version of the original, produced by Black Blood. We really loved this version and decided to give it a modern touch so it can pump through proper club sound systems and rock dance floors! It's a free DL, hope you enjoy :).

Inspired by the African cassette tapes from my father, I started playing African Disco and Funk in Amsterdam in 2010. After traveling in different continents, I started experimenting with sounds from all over the world. Where I used to play a bit more uptempo, nowadays I am focussing on a deeper and more atmospheric sound. Blending different genres and tempos is something that is appealing to me. From Nigerian funk to Amazon tribe music, everything is possible.
