this was kinda hard to make bc i forgot i wanted a plot point like this until just a week ago and i hadn't quite thought out a full style for knuckles' themes in this ost unlike oxus' (drums).
so for the 2nd half of the song, i wanted it to hearken back to the boss theme and the oxus fight theme, just to give a sense of familiarity (and also 'cause i really like that pattern how does igor do it)

for the record, it's called that because if knuckles wins, he becomes the savior of a dying world; but if sonic wins, he becomes the savior of a 'waking' world. knuckles is ultimately not fit for this position at this point in time.

Vs. Nonami | nonami (no name) is actually the oldest concept for deltarami, i wrote the original premise back in early 2024. most of the tenna stuff didnt come until 2025.

they're an amnesiac; after finding out "something they weren't supposed to know", their memory was ERASED and now they roam the underbelly of the Bellows. with no family and no friends, no one could remember who they were originally. all written record of nonami's existence was destroyed so angiotenna could save face. all thats left is the word of mouth that gets passed around..

turns out, they put themselves in exile for the safety of others. why? some recount that nonami turned violent, others speculate it was angiotenna that told them to.

nonami lost everything, but doesn't even know what constitutes that "everything". having lost all purpose, this darkner no longer serves lightners and thus their body began to fall apart. the antithesis to the Prince, who preaches purpose. (going with the jevil/susie, spamton/kris correlation, adding nonami/ralsei)

ive been battling between nonami's lw object either being literally nothing (the idea of a darkner being born from nothing and has no purpose) or an old camera that had its memory wiped (amnesia and "losing your purpose"); so pick your poison

nonami is initially docile; until they realize that the fun gang is apart of that "ultimate truth" they learned. desperate for answers, they lash out in a delirious state.

the battle involves the blue soul mode and a sort of similar mechanic to the omega flowey "save states". except that nonami's own will reflects on the fight, and attacks are "forgotten" midway through or redone all of the sudden.
