This is a very special EP. As many might know Toy Tonics started as a sublabel of now sleeping German indie dance label Gomma records. Gomma, along with DFA, Output Records and a few other was known for a very ecclectic, different approach in dance music. On this LOST GOMMA MIXES EP you'll find 4 now lost tracks that came out about 10 - 20 years ago on Gomma, but fit very well in today’s zeitgeist again. Pete Herbert, In Flagranti and Jaques Lu Cont are featured. Who knows about modern disco - knows these producers. And there is a very special name here too: Nicky Siano. The now legendary New York DJ used to be resident at Studio 54 and other legendary NYC venues of the 1970ies and 1980ies. One of his remix works was for the Gomma records band The KDMS.

FUNK THE WORLD - VOL. VI - SLEAZY WONDER

During the summer of last year I was listening to one of my favourite shows, Sam Don's Free Association on NTS Radio, a show known for rare grooves & beyond. It was during this show I heard an emotional Ukranian Edit unlike anything I've ever heard before. Upon searching for it, I discovered 'Yellow Letter' by an artist named Sleazy Wonder (Simon). The track was taken from an edit compilation on his Bandcamp, with the proceeds of purchasing it going directly to charities helping those most in need during the countries crisis.

I continued to search across the multiple edit collections on Simons Bandcamp and was blown away at the quality and variety of what was available. Sounds ranging from Hindi Disco, US House, British Funk & so much more. I enjoyed the broad range of sounds so much I decided to build a whole mix using solely the sounds of Sleazy Wonder.

Hour 1 of this week's show showcases this, starting in the 100bpm range and moving up to 130bpm and more. Disco, house to bhangra and back, we display the full variety of what we believe is one of the best edit collections available right now.

What's even better than this you ask? Well, we reached out to Simon to see if he wanted to join us on this week's show and he accepted our offer. Simon comes through in hour 2 with an incredible well crafted mix of worldwide grooves, off Piste Disco and eclectic sounds in an intelligently selected and technically wonderful guest mix. One of the best we've heard this year for sure!
