here's a story

one day, out of nowhere, i was suddenly struck with vague memories of a video game i used to play a lot, with my brother, when i was about 8 years old. i could only remember it was a platform game, where your character was this bald little figure, that you could climb walls by chewing them, that you had superpowers from eating "pork roasts" and other small details. i did some research, and stumbled upon a game called "Bonk's Adventure", and although all the details i remembered fitted the game, it didn't feel quite right, like that wasn't the exact game. so i talked about this to my brother, who returned with the actual game - it's the sequel, "Bonk's Revenge", or, as we had known it, "B.C Kid 2".
i got the game and from the first image, a kid standing on the moon, watching earth being torn in two, it was like time travel, just a flow of vivid memories from back when I would play this game. every detail in it, the sounds, the textures, the music, the levels... everything sent chills down my body. i had forgotten all about this game, it's only 12 years later, that by randomly thinking about it, I suddenly got to experience rediscovering something that had impacted me so much, after forgetting all about it. 
i just had to make a song from this game.

PSYENCE have announced their return this October with an infectious new single ‘You & I’ and a series of live dates this October.

Blurring the lines of 60's Americana garage rock and flirting with modern-day psychedelia such as Pond and Temples, Psyence is an intense chemical reaction of face-melting riffs, dynamic vocals and groove-based rhythms that have been locked away up north to slowly mature away before they break out this year.

The 4-piece from Stoke-On-Trent are a band that continue to step into new frontiers. Following on from their acclaimed singles 'Chemicals For Breakfast' and ‘Phoenix’, Psyence will now release another heavyweight single ‘You & I’, mixed by James Aparicio (Grinderman, These New Puritans, Spiritualized, Liars). While it’s more assured, more confident, and more tightly wound than their previous output, it’s another dynamic piece to the armoury that bears the unmistakable sound of Psyence.

Already lauded by the likes of NME, Clash Magazine, Q Magazine, The Quietus, Artrocker and The Guardian, as well as being hailed "the best live band" he'd seen in 10 years by The Charlatan's Martin Blunt following their Liverpool Festival of Psychadelia performance, Psyence are rapidly becoming much much more than just a new ‘one to watch’.

‘You & I’ will be released on October 23rd 2015 through Salvation Records. Psyence will hit the road on a series of UK tour dates throughout October and November.
