Dark Distorted Signal 6 is an EP with the forces combined by MixelPlix, a Rotterdam MC and grandmaster Olivier Abbeloos know from ceveral smashing hits from T77, Quadrophonie and C- Mos. The System is one of those gems played in Oliviers live-dj-sets. A strong screaming sublayer, injected with the lyrics of Mixelplix, that makes this track a very strong techno-mainstage banger. Renegade is the second track on this EP. This one is real dark banging techno track. The bell are maybe influenced by DAF or other 80s cowbell sounds. The MC masters as the perfect drill instructor for your venue. Play this EP on a high volume system with strong subsound speakers.

Abbeloos Olivier Featuring Mixelplix - The System

As we've now settled in Iceland, it's the perfect time to introduce some key figures who have shaped the local house music scene—and who have played an important role in Intr0beatz’s journey through four-to-the-floor rhythms.
One such figure is Housekell, aka Áskell Harðarson, a cornerstone of Reykjavík’s underground house scene since 2009. Alongside his labelmates at BORG LTD, Housekell was instrumental in bringing Intr0beatz’s music to a wider audience. They featured his music on their show on The Underground Sessions, founded by DJ Caspa, who helped amplify the sound even further. The rest, as they say, is history.
Known for his raw, genre-blending style that fuses old-school house, UK garage, and bass-driven cuts, Housekell has released music on respected labels like Lagaffe Tales and Hustler Trax. As co-founder of BORG LTD, his DJ sets are a deep dive through classic grooves and leftfield gems, always keeping the dancefloor on its toes.

A multi-instrumentalist with fingers in different genre pies, Mike delivers three sublime cuts here, Magia Fanita and It’s So Lush -  two Chunky mid tempo grooves touching on tweaky Balearica with a punch, whilst Diamonds Control goes for the late night ALFOS deep dancefloor vibes. Fellow Berlin resident Fabrizio Mammarella takes Its So Lush and gives it a masterclass makeover with his distinct trademark sound, and in his words ‘music for dancefloors made with old synthesizers, drum machines and a computer' — a meeting of the old and the new.

Con “Shuba”, Alex Medina confirma su idilio con el ritmo como materia viva. El canario levanta un artefacto de club que respira por las grietas: bajo elástico, percusión en capas y un fraseo sintético que se estira como una goma antes de soltar la carga. El groove avanza con ese funk futurista tan suyo —herrumbre de cinta, delays con sabor dub, golpes secos que despejan el espacio— hasta un breakdown que no busca épica sino sudor y cuerpo.

“Shuba” funciona en la pista porque está pensado desde ella: kicks redondos, hats con micro-swing, un bajo que se insinúa y manda, y un hook tímbrico que se queda sin necesidad de gritar. Es house de musculatura fina, vulnerable y táctil, que rehúye la fórmula para moverse por impulso.

La visión dub techno del productor de Portland Justin Neal alcanza su punto de madurez con Refractions, un EP que combina precisión rítmica, atmósferas introspectivas y una clara reverencia por las raíces de Detroit. Publicado bajo el influyente sello estadounidense SubSensory, el trabajo entrega cuatro cortes originales y un remix que reafirman la solidez estética de un artista con bagaje en el mítico circuito rave del Midwest.

El tema homónimo, Refractions, se desliza sobre un patrón jackin’ a 140 BPM con acordes envolventes y una vibra clásica que recuerda a los días dorados de Intec y M-Plant. A su lado, Currents se construye desde una melancolía cruda, apuntalada por stabs que resuenan como ecos industriales en un túnel abandonado. Paused y Hollowed completan el viaje: el primero juega con el vacío, abriendo espacios sonoros como si el delay respirara por sí mismo; el segundo, con un pulso más cinematográfico, cierra la narrativa con tonos espectrales que parecen grabados en celuloide.

El remix a cargo de Sergio Vilas añade contundencia percusiva y un barniz retro-techno que podría colarse sin esfuerzo en un closing de Carl Cox, quien ha respaldado lanzamientos anteriores del británico.

Con el respaldo reciente de figuras como Laurent Garnier, Perc o Richie Hawtin, y un historial de lanzamientos en Bang Tech 12, Refractions representa un momento crucial en la trayectoria de Justin Neal, un artista que, lejos de buscar fórmulas prefabricadas, opta por dejar que las texturas hablen por él.
