For the 19th EP on Heimlich Musik, Cologne-based producer Dario Klein delivers three gloomy bangers accompanied by remix contributions from JOIA, Samaha, Daniel Jaeger, Kapoor and Matija. Inspired by the unique vibe of the streets of Marrakech and based on live jams, the Djeema el Fna EP tells a story of music as a concept beyond consciousness. Built around melodic lead synths and broken drums, dark basslines contribute to the mesmerizing aesthetic of the original mixes JOIA’s interpretation of the title track puts on additional pressure with bass frequencies going right under your skin, while Samaha transforms Djeema el Fna into a euphoric hymn tailored for early morning hours. With an almost criminal bassline, Daniel Jaeger’s version of Rahmos is a housey floor killer. Kapoor’s remix sticks to the vibe of the original but adds a psychedelic touch using hypnotic arpeggios. Rounding up a diverse set of remixes, Matjia’s version of Rahmos is a dreamy composition with a touch of optimism garnished by organic percussions.
The latest EP on Heimlich Musik is painting a colorful picture of downtempo ranging from smooth grooves over melodic tech to cutting-edge industrial bleeps.

As always we introduce the person behind the music with three questions, in this case Ben aka @tannenberg

1) What is your favorite book to read? 
Tortilla Curtain by TC Boyle. Not only because it carries the favourite food of my ancestors from Central America in the title but also describes the issues immigrants are facing coming into an industrialized, over-organised and materially wealthy society. Also a reflection of my own personal story.

2)  If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? Magic hugs which turn haters into lovers, war lords into cuddle machines and jealous folks into caring & supporting persons. 

3) What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)?  Some 60 hours on one of the first super enthusiastic weekends dancing in Berlin - right from work on Friday to the bars and then 1 full 24h at Sisyphos. Was just so happy to be alive at that time in that place. Just couldn’t stop dancing with a big smile on my face.

The musician, who lives in southwest Germany, is committed to the creation of a subculture in his hometown Koblenz.  
Orgonit is the first single of his upcoming EP.  

Melodic synth pads in the background creating a sound carpet that forms the basement of his music. Almost off beat-like snare thunderstorms are paired with a mantra-like bass that only selectively changes its frequency. This song is a reflection of the various musical influences that the artist has experienced.
 A place where minimal, trance and house come together to create an extraordinary style of downtempo.

On Marc Holstege's 'The Boy In The Garden', melancholic strings rise and fall endlessly over a slow breakbeat and shimmering synths. But it's the soulful, contemplative male vocal sitting at the song's core that reaches straight for the heart – and won't let go again. 'Wolves (Sunday Morning Version)' is equally touching, as the Dutch producer guides another delicate vocal through a dazzling slow-beat arrangement with profound results. For their remix, the Italian duo Moonwalk then strip 'The Boy In The Garden' of its sentimental atmospheres, cunningly remoulding the vocals to fit their razor-sharp and cinematic peak-time sound.

Jaquomo's 'Replace Space' is sure to run on repeat. Here, Caro Mac's vocal incites our memories for those lost loves as it floats over pensive chords and a crunchy trip-hop beat. 'Close & Hide' is pitched-down piano house accentuated by another ingenious use of vox, making it just as moreish. PREMIERE: Jaquomo - Replace Space (Fabian Krooss Remix) [Stil Vor Talent]

Fenou was born in 2005. It is the first sublabel of Mo's Ferry and stands for this special musical output between more harmonious electronica and swinging minimal house... let's say "cuteminimalelectronica". The first releases are presented as cute mini-compilations consisting two tracks by two different artists. Later the label presented artist releases, as well. To drive the vinyl enthusiasts mad who favour not only day-by-day sounds the fenou releases are limited 10inch editions with hand painted cover artwork and serially numbered.
