A poem, a lullaby, whispered musings

"Supplant this carnal creature
as he was made to yearn
your wrists swirl fluttered wisps
as you dance, my heart it burns

what makes a man of beasts
your singing eyes call out to me 
shall they lead me to drift
gently out to sea

to drown or to wander 
could not both be just as fine. . .

. . . or who to say 
what is due?
A thornful world would entangle
just as soon

If while viced in doom-laden vines
we rest our gaze upon the pedals
relent now that mortal strain
windless dust to settle

Perhaps some comfort in the earth,
or in what grace we may behold
A million stings may come the morning
For now, we sup of sweet, honeyed gold"
