Back on @thfradio, we had the pleasure of hosting yet another exciting up and coming artist. Originally from Cairo but based in Berlin, @azemad is part of a fresh wave of electronic musicians from his native country that are pushing boundaries by fusing cutting edge dance music with traditional Egyptian elements. Tune in to find out more about his  creative inspirations and to get a glimpse into his past and forthcoming releases. Not to be missed in particular is his heater of a guest mix in the 2nd half of the show, drawing tunes almost exclusively from Egyptian and other Arabic producers.

After six illustrious vinyl releases behind them, Forbidden Dance takes this one deeply close to home. As a rising house name from Croatia, Laseech signs this harmonic and creamy house release iced with stellar vocals by Desney Bailey and backed up by two of the house heavyweights – Dego and Patrice Scott.

A1 The title track “Hey Love” is packed with effortless deepness in and out topped with smooth Bailey’s vocals dancing elegantly over chords and strings. Dazzling tuneage that resembles airy summer jam at your favourite beach spot.

A2 Dego is a man with a thousand sounds. And all of them are rich and impressive. His disco-funk spin on “Hey Love” is ploughed with heavy synths and sharp drums that culminate with a lush keyboard frenzy in the end. 

B1 Patrice Scott’s ability to infuse introspective soul into machine sound is second to none. “Hey Love” goes through melodic morphosis which Patrice delivers so smoothly and tinges it with floor-oriented moves. 

B2 Bailey’s vocals are the soul carrier of this release and it shows pretty much on “You See”. Hazy and melancholic, the track slowly burns under her looped vocals. Stripped, heart-aching and beautifully dimmed.

Clocking Pamela’s PRO Workout at x1 PPQN with an ASQ-1 sequence to create a completely random Castle setting each time a note is triggered. 

The ASQ-1 is started, sequencing a dual oscillator Akemie’s Castle melody. Pam’s PPQN is set to x1, with all outputs set to produce x1 random waves. The gate out of the ASQ-1’s sequence is duplicated to the Clock input of Pam. At each note in the sequence, Pam’s 8 random signals are advanced due to the x1 PPQN setting. The outputs are patched to modulate most of the Castle’s parameters, resulting in a totally random sound for each note in the sequence.

The daylight of house music LESSON# 2 @Ethos mama club_riccione April1991

A Yorkshireman and a Kiwi meet in London. They drink, discuss music and become mates. They realise that they both like to play instruments and use DAW's. 

The pair have a vast array of musical influences, from post punk, krautrock and house to bass music, booming techno and electro. 

Fast forward a couple of years, The Yorkshireman moves to Auckland and links up with the Kiwi. They begin writing music together, throwing all their disparate influences into a melting pot, and Ferdishenko is born. 

Ferdishenko are Harry Wright and Oliver Crawford.
